Hello everyone. Many of you know me for my Elysian army that I am putting together and I have not stopped working on that, however I have decided that my second project will be a Black Dragons Space Marine Chapter using the brand new Chaos Space Marine book. Now the reasons for this are thus:

-Cool new units that fit the look of a Black Dragons army such as the Helldrake and Forgefiend.

-The fluff of the Black Dragons how many in the inquisition view them as mutated and tainted because of the bony growths that are known to grow out of their heads and forearms, the elite close combat unit known as the "Dragon Claws". The have been censured by the inquisition.

So in all reality this will neither be a Space Marine or a Chaos Space marine list but more a "Renegade" Marine list which I am liking the idea of alot as they have no loyalty to the Imperium (though they still worship the Emperor) and are not evil like Chaos. I am loving the idea . Anyways this is my first attempt so any thoughts, comments and ideas are more then welcome, thanks for reading guys!

HQ: 170pts.

TOTAL ARMY: 1749pts.

TACTICS:

-Lord with Warp Talons (aka Chapter Master and a unit of Dragon Claws) will be in reserve along with both Helldrakes. I will have my four squads of marines on the board with the Forgefiends, all my marine squads have mark of Slannesh with a mark to give them feel no pain (I know I have a crazy number and variations of marks but wanted to try to make my guys as survivable as possible). Basically, am going with the tactic of putting as much fire down range as I can to obliterate my opponent.


19th Krieg Siege Army 7500pts.
40k/HH Night Lords 5000pts.
Orks Waaaghmacht Spearhead 2500pts.

Blight grenades or for mark of nurgle only, so you might want to swap the MoK for MoN, also i would probably drop a few marines to give the squads rhino's, even tho rhino spam lists are not quite as good in 6th 35pts is still pretty good at making your squads more survivable and faster. other than that i really like this list. only other thought, and this is in my opinion a daemon prince with black mace is an absolute must have, this guy can get up to 12 S10 Ap2 cc attacks that have a chance of inflicting instant death all at I8! if he charges a squad it dies basically...

first off khorn cannot join nugle nurgle cannot join khorn, unless the lord is an unmarked then it cannot join a unit with a mark with a diffrent mark,

khorn lord is going into a unit of CC nightmares and you gave him a power fist...give him axe of blind fury, the burning skalathrax, sigil ( 4 up invuln save instead of a 5+ ) and jump pack

unless he is nurgle then give him a power axe and sword ( or maul ) , blight, sigil, and jump pack

your troops scrap 1 or 2 to give the other ones full 10 man the sargent a power sword x2 or x1 depending on how much you can spend if you can at all, and give htem all rhnos, ( i prefer flames in 6th but what ever you want as your weapons ) reason why rhinos is if not then they have to WALK the whole way there

warp talons ... they are not ment to survive, don't give them long war vet the lord is there, i prefer either slensh or khorn. reason being more attacks or higher I, either way i dont really give these guys much survive ability because they arnt really ment to, also i would make them 10 man insted of 7 they are cheaper then raptors when fully upgraded, 1 last thing the sargent scince he has to auto challenge ( unless you want to risk your lord doing so ) then give him his 2 mutations he can get for the edge in a fight

x2 hell drakes GIVE THEM FLAMERS!! they are gak at fighting air anyway, and they are mostly ment to kill infantry and pop light vehicals, the only air they can pop with ease is the valkuries and even then they spam x9 of those with all las cannons so your air is fethed if you fight them.

forge fiends if you have the points give them that plas cannon if not then dont bother, just set these guys on an objective and any infantry heading near them will get blown away

all and all this list is fine im just giving advice or my opinion but the only things you nee are rhinos and make the lord a nurgle or your talons khorne

I disagree with the rhinos, the only thing they do is give away First Blood, you will be fighting an uphill battle with one victory point less in many missions. Also the DP is way to expensive for what it does, sure it has lots of attacks and everything but unless you beef him up with power armor and lvl 3 psyker he will die before taking back his points. I'd stick to the 1/3 of the cost lord.

I disagree with both to a certain extent, rhino spam has actually gotten better in most cases. Sure your opponent might get 1st blood but so could you if you have any good range shooting, but other than that the vehicles have gotten more survivable IMO and spamming rhinos there is no way an enemy could take out that much armour in a single game, not to mention glancing hits won't stun or imobilise anymore so a fair bit of the time you just lose a HP and can continue doing what you were doing.
The do shouldn't die. He should almost always get a minimum of 1 assault if you fly, use terrain or even use the spammed rhinos to make a wall to block Los. Its all about tactics and synergy.

Plus id take held rakes IMO

Flamer is so good against infantry and its far harder to kill generally, but then again its all really situational what you should take.
