What happens when a NS gets destroyed and there are Warriors aboard? I came across an discussion a while back that said the Warriors are not in the transport and deep strike unto the board. I can't seem to find the article though.

I don't see it FAQed. What is the consensus regarding this event?

They suffer the hits as normal. Then they follow the rules for being placed in reserve.

However since its not clear we will wait for a FAQ. Id say codex trumps BRB and codex say nothing about taking hits. Just says are placed in reserves.

They definitely do not Deep Strike on to the board.

They go into Reserves and will come is as normal Reserve units do.

Codex only trumps BRB when there is conflict between them. So if codex says nothing about taking hits, then there is no conflict and BRB still applies and they will take the hits. For there to be conflict, codex must contradict BRB rule and then and only then does codex trump BRB. This is something that people seem to misunderstand time after time.

RAW is they take the hits and are then placed into reserves. I personally was surprised it wasn't FAQ'd already to remove the hits, considering how the FAQ answers have been going for Necrons recently. See "Can you embark into NS" if you don't know what I mean.

The codex is not in conflict with the taking hits part.

After looking yes the codex does trump.

After it takes the hits, the unit is not placed on the board. Instead they are placed into reserves if there are any survivors.

I honestly don't see why there is a need for a FAQ, the codex, as said, only trumps the survivor placement rules, there is nothing in the codex that says the unit inside doesn't take the hit, the only thing that might suggest that is the fluff, but we all know fluff is fluff, rules are rules.

This brings me to my own question though: Was there any heated argument last edition? Do units not take the standard explosion damage in 5th ed? Or is this all because of the fact that Crash and Burn does S10 hits?

I didn't know anyone had used them until 6th edition >.<

Oh yeah, there wasn't any model for them until recently... Still, I just don't see the ambiguity some people see...

While this has been highly debated for a period time, there is a conflict that is evident. How do you resolve Reanimation protocols and Ever Living? They simply just don't go to reserves and neglect the rolls.

Actually they do just go into reserve.

While there is nothing saying that the Night Scythe's passengers do not take str 10 hits, there is no evidence provided by the codex that suggests that the passengers do not take reanimation protocols or ever living.

You can not place an everliving marker off the table...

The remaining models absolutely without a doubt go straight to Reserve, do not pass Go. They are in Reserve at the end of the phase. Find permission to make you RP or EL rolls whilst in Reserve.

Tokens are only removed when the unit is wiped out or falls back. Is a unit placed in reserves wiped out? Not as defined by the rules. You do get to make the rolls.

BUT: any models that successfully return via RP must return to play within unit coherency of a model in their unit. As their unit is not on the table, you cannot place them and they are destroyed.
At least, that's how I read it.
That's assuming they take the hits. I really wish they would hurry up and FAQ the dumb thing.

For those that agree the models go into reserve, do they have to re-enter from players board edge? They cannot deep strike back onto the board, correct?

Correct, and for the record no RP counter either.

There's nothing to "agree" on, the codex says survivors enter reserve, and they can't deep strike onto the board, so yes, they enter from the player's board edge.

I'm assuming they use the normal reserve rules instead of going into ongoing reserve as well.
