Which one of these is better considering I'll be mostly using it for gaming:
(also if you have any more suggestions for decent spec computers for a reasonable price e.g. under £700 they would be very much appreciated)

where are you seeing these? I wouldn't buy either.
video card is underpowered, power supply is mysteriously absent, memory has unknown timing, ect.

They're both on the Dell website.

Ok, do you have any ,suggestions for a decent laptop or desktop for under around $1150?

first, dont buy a premade computer

Can you not force things into slots they dont fit into?
Can you compare words and only buy parts that will work together?

congrats, you can build an awesome gaming rig

actually my buddy just bought one from newegg lemme have him shoot me his wishlist

With 1150$

Intel i5 2600k
some mobo that suits (in the 100-150 price range, more bells whistles=better)
nvidia gtx 670 (hopefully with 2gb of vram)
atleast 4gb of ram (ddr3 or better is fine)
win 7 64bit (buy before win 8)
case (your choise)
hdd (your choise but not too expensive, you might even go for sdd because you seem to loaded with money)
dvd drive (blu ray if you want blu ray otherwise any cheap one will do)

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.

If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in.

here's a list, of course you can screw around with deals and packages, if it were me I'd go heavy on RAM first:

I am still trying to make a budget gaming PC. Do you know anything about AMD processors because I've heard they're cheaper than Intel? Is this a good processor: AMD A10-5800k?

Do you think it'd be worth changing the processor for something along these lines: AMD A10-5800k?

Thanks for the help

When fitting out a new PC, I stop off at Toms Hardware:

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106.html

They break down kit into price ranges, and compare like-for-like.

Usually, if you want an ATI video card, get an AMD processor. They're now the same people.
If not, nVidia seems to work best with Intel CPUs.

But, it's been a while since I did this, so take this with caution.

AMD processors are ok (I have phenom ii x4 3.7ghz) but they lack room expansion. That AMD A10-5800k seems to suck ballz (I believe it's an apu). If you want amd cpu find those older phenom ii x4 or x6 ones they are better than the newer ones.

I'm against Grunz's idea to buy lots of ram because a) you don't need lots of ram (most games rarely use over 4gb of ram) b) you can always buy more if you need it c)he want you to buy super expensive ram (I payed 30 euros for my 4gb of ddr3 ram from kingston it does what ram is suppose to do)

I recommend getting nvidia video card (I use ati myself) because the drivers are easier to live with and video cards tend to run well in most games due them being good at shader rendering. AMD likes ridiculous amounts vram which is ok but most games just don't use lots of vram (1gb is a good amount, 2gb is good for 1920x1080 or bigger resolution).

You don't need a computer case. Computer cases are for three things 1) they protect the components 2)protect your ears 3)look cool If you can't afford a case don't worry about.

Power supply is better be a trusty one. Bad psus tend to have voltage spikes which can explode your components. You don't need a super high wattage a good 600w will handle anything pretty well. I believe even a really reliable 500w will be able to hand most components just fine.

With 700£ you can buld a pretty high end pc. BUY WIN 7 64bit ASAP, gabe says win 8 sucks.

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.

I'm with the others, Newegg it. Also, if you can do a desktop rig you'll get a lot more for your $1500 than you would a laptop. In fact, if you wanted to, you could get a decent laptop for $500(ish) and a pretty decent DIY gaming PC for $1000.

If you are for sure getting a laptop, a 15" screen is the ideal IMHO.

OK, here's some honest help: this is a lousy place to ask for computer advice. As someone else posted, copy and paste your post onto Tom's Harware and follow their advice instead.

I actually prefer Hardware Revolution, they have different options for each price bracket - I'd recommend you check it out.

I would honestly not buy a PSU that is smaller than 600W. Of course, I do much more hardware intensive work than just gaming on my rig, so the wattage gets used. I have found that even with "only" gaming, 500W just doesn't cut it at times.

The only other real piece of advice that I'd give that's different from what others have already said, is when you are looking at hardware for your custom build, make sure to read ALL reviews (or a good chunk of them, if there are a large number). There are some brands that I would stay away from, but I don't want to bias you into anything that may not work as well for you.
