Will there be any rules that enable skyfire to take down flyers or any model released for space marines that are aimed at taking Down flyers and skimmers (I'm thinking hydra-flak sort of thing). Any rumors or anything? Post below, thAnks

SM will get flak for MLs when the codex is update and your flyers have Skyfire

The only Skyfire unit SM have are Storm Talons. Beyond that, you've got allies, flakk guns and FW stuff. On top of that, you have the normal anti-flyer stuff (massed fire, getting inside their minimum move distance, out of their limited arc of fire, flooding the board, etc).

Skimmers are not flyers, you treat them as normal vehicles, by the way.

Depends on who you ask, many players and even tournaments will allow forgeworld models using the Imperial Armour rules, others wont.

I see FW stuff used more an more at my local GW, it's pretty common these days and generally there are unlikely to be objections to using the models in a pick up game.

That's not Chapter Approved, that's Imperial Armour. Very big difference.

OP was asking about the future, hence "will there be". All SM/IG will be getting Flak Missiles.

Well, that depends. Black Templars do not currently have access to dev squads. If flak missiles are only an option for dev squad missile launchers (like they are for Chaos), I can totally see GW putting out Black Templars with the hilarity of having a swarm of 20 marines and proto-marines running around trying to jump up high enough to smack a flier with their chainswords.

Honestly I fully expect to see a WD article with Chapter Approved rules for a bunch of AA units sometime next summer. They'll probably have done a fairly good job of milking extra sales of fliers by putting them out with minimal defensive units available. Come summer it'll be time to sell kits to defend against it.

Imperial Armor Aeronautica looks like a pretty nice addition to the game right now though. Lots of flier and AA options for most lists. Tyranids get shafted, but other than them things look decent especially if you're willing to consider allies. The only thing in there I've heard people complain about are the Sabre platforms if they get spammed.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Whirlwinds get a flakk option - at least to boost sales of the kit. Also, because it would be pretty awesome having a mobile SAM.
