When using the gallery search, it would be nice if results from user names weren't included (or an option to not include them).
For example doing a search "Berserker" will show all gallery images by user "Bersker_Bob"
As "Beserker_Bob" is a hardcore Elf player the end result is page after page of Elf images instead of the Besekers you're searching for.
(Apologies if there's an actual user called Beserker_Bob)

Do you have a real example of this happening?
Because from what I can tell, the Gallery goes off of the tags used when uploading the image (or when people add to it).
Using your example, the first page is mostly Khorne Berserker stuff and all I did was search Berserker. Though you do get 1 Warjack, and some Khorne themed Traitor Ogryn...

Yes. Use the - sign directly in front of the word Bob, as an example. Do a search for Templars
and then rank in order of paint job, and you'll see a few from kronk! Do a search for Templars -kronk
and then rank in order of paint job, and you won't see any from kronk. I hope that helps.

Today I was searching for Wulfen, and had pages of images from user Wulfen_Andy (very nice models he does, but they weren't Wulfen). Automatically Appended Next Post: kronk wrote:Yes. Use the - sign directly in front of the word Bob.
That's great for removing some things from the search, but only if I know what I'm omitting. I'd have to do twenty searches, adding a new -bob equivalent each time to finally narrow my search down to what I want.

Most search engines don't have an option to omit certain words/phrases (except google's removal of basic articles (a, an, the, etc...) So if you do the search for Wulfen -andy you should get your results since you know a more defined set of search options.
Adding functionality to "omit usernames" would garble up the gallery which is trying to be improved as much as possible without taking up large chunks of the site.
It is an interesting idea however, but I don't believe it is all that practical.

Either put berserker in quotes or put a - before the full username eg:
Berserker -berserker_bob
One or both of those should work

Neither does sadly.
My fault for not using a better example.
If I search for Berserker I'll get all gallery results from member Berserker Bob (I shouldn't have put and underscore in my example).
A search for "Berserker" ( using quotes as suggested) would still show all images from Berserker Bob but not Berserker_Bob.
A search for Berserker -Bob would help, but only if I knew of Berserker Bobs Elf fetish in advance, I would still get all Images by Berserker Fred in my search results. It would take a long time to refine my search using this method to get the desired results.
Basically I search for Berserker and get Elves as a result (example, not reality. In reality I search for Wulfen and I get dread fleet and Zombie Dragons. Not quite what I was after).
It's just a shame that if a username matches the search description, then their entire gallery of unrelated images will be placed in the search results.

I guess I'm not seeing how doing 2 searches wastes a lot of time.
Perhaps you should just deal with your issue in reality rather than with Bob and his love of elves...
Using your actual issue, I ran a search for Wulfen and saw the nicely painted models by Wulfen Andy, and then I ran a search for "Wulfen" which showed the same results as the regular Wulfen search. I then tried Wulfen -Andy which took his results out.
Now I'm going try using the phrase grot and squig, since there are a few people on Dakka with squig and grot in their names. After scanning the first few pages, I'm not getting your issue, though I am getting images with the squig tag when they're just chibi drawings of other 40k related things...
Sadly, there just happens to be a guy named Wulfen Andy on this forum, and your issue is very very specific and unique on that regard (to me at least), simply because he has a space in his name.

There are a few that add their name as a tag...

You could always do Bezerker -"Bezerker Bob" in such a situation. Or alternatively just ignore his results. It's not a particularly difficult skill to simply ignore those results that don't happen to be bezerkers. Just scroll past them and only look at those that are what you're looking for.
