If I take Ahriman, and he lets me infiltrate units, can I:

1. Infiltrate allies?
2. Infiltrate units and their transport
3. Infiltrate a unit with an attached HQ character.

Sorry if this has been covered, but I've only played a single game of 6th, and really have no idea how it works.

Just read Ahriman's entry for his special rule. If it only gives that BRB version of the special rule. Just go read that in the BRB.

IIRC warlord traits only apply to brotherhood allies.

As chaos daemons are their only BB it doesnt truly matter

As above; the rules for Allies specify that only Battle Brother-level allies can benefit from Warlord traits of the Warlord leading the primary detachment. CSM only have Chaos Daemons as Battle Brothers, and those guys can't Infiltrate because they always start in Reserve and Deep Strike onto the table.

For number 3, you CAN do this, but you infiltrate the character and attack the unit to him -this is due to the timing of the nomination to infiltrate D3 units, which is prior to deployment - and deployment is when you attach units and ICs

Units do not attach to ICs though, rather ICs attach to units. If only the IC had Infiltrate (Huron) then "...being deployed in unit coherency with it..." would mean the unit has already deployed, as normal and without Infiltrate.

That was 5th ed, and early 5th ed at that - you now declare who is joining before physically placing them on the table.
