I've played 8 games with Kaya and I want to change here. I like the model but she's just not for me.

I like the sound of Krueger. I've devised this army list. Is it any good?

Krueger the Stormwrath (*5pts)
* Feral Warpwolf (9pts)
* Warpwolf Stalker (10pts)
Druids of Orboros (Leader and 5 Grunts) (7pts)
Shifting Stones (2pts)
Shifting Stones (2pts)
Wolves of Orboros (Leader and 5 Grunts) (4pts)
Gallows Grove (1pts)
Wolflord Morraig (5pts)

This list is partly based on the models I have and the ones I really like.

What I plan to do is run the Warpwolves up but have the shifting stones available to teleport them back to safety. The Druids I will use as to my more valuable defensive units and Krueger. I will use one of their spells (can't remember the name) to push enemy models away. Krueger, meanwhile, will blast enemies with his lightning attacks. Depending on the enemy, I will use the Gallows Grove to channel the Skyborne spell to one of the Warpwolves to inflict pain. Morraig and the Wolves will flank and be a pain in the backside for the enemy. They will also tie up enemy models for a turn or two so I can charge them with the Warpwolves.Because Morraig can run 16" and charge 11" when mounted I may also use him as a caster-killer against some of the more squishy ones.

Any comments on the list or tactics?

Wolves are pretty much there to just die horribly. That's about all they do. For beasts for Krueger, I would recommend Megalith and a Woldwarden so since then both can geomancy his spells. The Gallows is money with Krueger, and I usually pair up on them. FWIW, this is my go to guy unless there's a Colossal on the other side and I feel I need to kill it over ignoring it.

Skyborne is self only so you won't be doing that. The wolves and Morraig will not be a pain for anything or slow anything down. The only thing they are good for is the one turn that you'll be able to use flank and then pretty much they're DOA. He's also pretty much never going to be a caster killer except on very certain circumstances where all the planets align correctly. The stones in your plan don't work that way. They push forward, not backward. If the stones are forward, they will crush one and they won't be able to teleport any more. You want to rely on chain lightning and the feat turn to crush all their infantry. You will want to use druids to pull warjacks and beasts out of their control area so they can't allocate or leach off them or out of control areas. The force bolts are also pretty good at killing infantry.

This is what I'm running with him right now at 35.
Krueger the Stormwrath (*5pts)
* Megalith (11pts)
* Woldwarden (9pts)
Druids of Orboros (Leader and 5 Grunts) (7pts)
* Druid of Orboros Overseer (2pts)
Shifting Stones (2pts)
Tharn Bloodtrackers (Leader and 5 Grunts) (5pts)
*Nuala the Huntress (2pts)
Gallows Grove (1pts)
Gallows Grove (1pts)

Stones fling a grove forward on turn one (preferably into cover so they can be stealthed) to start the chain lightning demise of any troopers. Turn 2 sees 4 chain lightnings plus the feat turn and pulling out beasts and jacks of control with the druids.

Krueger does run Wolves very nicely, as getting a 13" threat on the Feral and the bounce attacks and reach from both weapons on the Stalker when it Berserks is VERY nice. The versatility also means you will have ample threat ranges AND hitting power against a variety of targets, whether its infantry heavy or Colossals. I just find that my Wardens end up a little lacking in punch when the time comes to deal with the big guys unless I'm multicharging alot, then finding myself running too hot and vulnerable to counter assault.

As far as Wolves of Orboros are concerned, if you need them for Lightning rods, the stones work better. If you want them just to buff Morraig, IMO you're better off taking that combo with Grayle, who gets some pretty good use out of them both(his feat especially allowing for some ridiculous charge vectors and distances, and Stormrager on Morraig allowing for a MAT14, P+S15 +5d6 attack.)

Chicks with Sticks work amazingly for Krueger, as Lightning Tendrils lets them charge with a 12" threat, annihilate the target plus a few that are nearby, then move 3" after the fact. You're looking at upwards of 11 attacks in melee, each hit causes a lightning bounce, then the girls can shoot at another target within 7" with Weapon Master attacks. THEN they can leave, helping to ameliorate counter charges or avoid them all together. Have a nice day.

Gatormen also work very well for Kreuger, as he can up their armor against ranged attacks to what it is while they're in melee, and Lightning Tendrils gives both weapons reach, giving them also a 12" charge range against living models WITH rerolls on both attacks.

Druids are a fantastic unit for Krueger, adding the Overseer is a great way to add some power and some defense (Oh, I'm sorry Menoth, were you trying to kill us? BWAHAHAHA!!!)

And I didn't think Groves could be placed by any effect other than their own?

6th edition lands on June 23rd!

Good news. This is the best time in the hobby. Full of promise. GW lets us down each time and we know it but secretly we're hoping that this is the edition that GW gives us a balanced game that can also be played competitively at tournaments. I'm loving it.

Cool guys, thanks for the comments. I'm not that proficient with the rules yet, I'm just trying some combos at the moment.
