If Fateweaver is in combat with 4 models or less and he uses boon of mutation and kills one, will the squad now have to take a leadership check. Also if they break will I do a sweeping advance, also, due to we are legion will I then be able to fire the rest of my arsenal at a different target?

As you don't take morale tests until the end of the phase.
Beings you targeted that unit you can't assault another unit.
If that unit is destroyed you have no legal assault target

Yes, but would they even take a morale check was my first question... Automatically Appended Next Post: Also, if it was a single model and I turned it into a spawn would I be able to fire at a different squad?

Yes, if boon gos off they're removed as a casualty. they've lost 25%, so they'll test at the end of the shooting phase To your amended question, no. You have to choose targets at the same time.

You dont take panic checks for losing 25% while in close combat, unless I'm missing something

ugh you're right.
Shooting into close combat pg 28.
Units locked in CC do not take morale tests to shooting/pining
I forgot about that, and had gone straight to morale checks...

No worries - i would have been shocked if that had changed, however you no longer take 25% checks in the assault phase at all anymore - so if you assault and explode a transport vehicle, killing 25% of the embarked unit, they dont take a panic check any longer. There was a chance they had changed it for general units locked in combat as well, but fairly sure they hadnt
