So in between studying for exams I've been day dreaming about conversions I'd like to attempt over the summer holidays. I thought about a Dreadknight 'counts as' using the official model and the plastic daemon prince kit. The idea stems from the daemon hosts (which I like the idea of, but dislike the models) and the idea of radical inquisitors binding daemons into their service.

Now I did get somewhat discouraged by the fact that the daemon prince is about half the height of the Dreadknight, but I think I could use the knight's leg and armour plates to enlarge the daemon prince and represent his binding. If I green stuff on chains and purity seals to model his service to the inquistor (including using the correct Dreadknight armaments), I figure i could cover his mouth rebreather style to prevent him from using 'magicks' and cover all the obvious chaos markings with armour plates and imperial blessings. The overall aesthetic would be the daemon prince as a bound cybernetic convict with Dreadknight weaponry.

Obviously the model height and width would have to be close as possible to the standard to be fair in game. Is my idea ridiculous or would players be happy to face against such a 'counts as' model?

As long as you made it look cool, and used the smaller base made for daemon princes/ Helbrutes/ dreadnoughts I'd be completely cool with this.

Thanks! I'm hoping my modelling skills will be as good as my imagination! I thought I'd have to use the dread knight base though, mostly because it is intended to play as one.

Yeah, if it counts as a DK it needs to use the oval base. Guessing the previous poster got turned around about what was counting as what.

As for the idea, I freaking love it. It makes me think of the Cyberdemon from Doom. I don't know how much of the DK kit you're planning on using, but I'm picturing something with most of the limbs intact and the DP's limbs bound into them like the Aliens Power Loader.

If you're going for an ambitious paint job, purity seals applied to the daemon's flesh with burn marks around them could look really awesome.

You Sir, are a genius! I hadn't considered painting the flesh as scorched by the seals - that is an AWESOME idea.
