Hahah, title says it all. I thought that I'd be more motivated if I was updating something where people could see my paint jobs.

I'm not a pro painter/airbrusher by any means so most of what you will be seeing here are novice/first-time painting models. So if your looking for OMG then sorry to disappoint but I warned you The most I've done previous to this/army was basecoat a model. No joke...I've owned about 8 armies in and out of all of 40k and never painted past basecoat. I guess I was too intimidated at going further.

Well this painting blog will hopefully help me stay motivated to continue showcasing my first-time paint jobs as I better my techniques and improvements. (Hopefully)

As it says in the title, I will be painting a GK and IG (allies) army.
C/C and advice are very welcomed!

This is my first infantry model I've ever painted. It's my GKSS. I like this scheme more than the average GK I see and I always prefer the darker themed color schemes.

Nice job, it's kinda hard to believe that that model was your first painted because it is done very well. Kudos to you!

Seeing a squad of veterens swoop in in a Vendetta, secure the area, deliver that math assignment, and extract within 2 minutes would be freaking sweet.

^ I wish I had done the same, lol. I just grabbed my first Skaven Clanrat and painted it terribly. Then painted all 63 of my Skaven w/ zero help or skill besides enthusiasm. Man, oh man. I haven't ever used them for anything because of lost models and lack of willpower to restart. 40k all the way now, even took apart my Empire army after having it criticized, realized it'd make a cooler IG feudal army.

Very rough and "grungy" IG I just did. Inspiration from Truffle. I know it's not the standard clean and pristine lined IG but this is quick, easy, and I really like the final way it looks Enjoy!

Good job! I actually used that technique on my own Guardsmen before I left them for AoBR for a while. I like it, I bet it looks nice from a distance. WInter theme certainly helps with drybrishing white like this.

Hah ya. I need to use my wife's camera but didn't. It really washed out some of the color and made it not look as cool

Don't we all need our wife's/mom's camera? They always have the best ones for some reason. I was motivated myself from this blog, so I started painting an Archon/Haemonculus thingy that has been sitting 'round for a while. Unfortunately, the cleaners my mom hire misplace, break, and hide my stuff, so it took me 2 days to find all of my models.

Zombie Archon!

Haha! Def. Glad you got motivated

I'm thinking of washing my IG guys up top with Nulin Oil to "clean up" the drybrushing...not sure the effect it will have on it all...will test it out soon :O
