Hey everyone,

I normally send most of my business to Miniature Market, and have for several years, but this morning my fiancee called them to place an order for GW stuff for my birthday. The guy was really rude to her (to the point of her almost crying) so she wound up hanging up. Needless to say, I don't want to send them any more business.

Miniature Market has a 25% off policy on GW products, so I'm looking for another online retailer that can match that discount, so my lady can save some cash and still get me the models I wanted.

Please let me know if anyone has any suggestions of a good online retailer with a good discount and good phone skills. I know several that are 20% off but I'd like to keep a good discount (which is why MM's 25% off was nice) as she wants to buy me the kits I want and I'd like to save her that extra couple bucks.

Thanks all!

This might help....

That certainly did find a lot of UK stores and random discussions on forums about selling used miniatures and old news announcements.

I was hoping for personal experience posts, ie, if there's a retailer people use that won't make my fiancee cry when she tries to place an order and hopefully offers 25% off and is in the USA. Don't even care if it's a mom and pop shop with no web presence.

I've never had a problem with MM. They have always been great on the phone. Personally, I'd suggest giving them a call and letting them know what happened so that 1) they can put their people in check, and 2) give them an opportunity to make up for it. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but personally if I do business happily with a company for seven years, I'm going to give them the opportunity to make a bad situation right.

That's just my take on it. You are obviously a lot closer to the situation than I am.

Warstore is my preferred online retailer. They respond to emails quickly, are well stocked, ship quickly, and have good prices and shipping charges. I've ordered through them for years, and have always been 100% satisfied.

I'd call Miniature Market up and tell them about the situation. At the very least, they owe her an apology.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

My retailer does 30% off all plastics with $6 flat rate shipping. But for him it's PM's on bartertown and paypal only.

Message me if you are interested.

I'd agree with everyone on calling up MM and letting them know what happened. I have zero tolerance for crap service and when I get it, i make a point to ensure the company understands how crappy the service was. I used to manage a customer service team and as a manager the angry customers were my favorite to deal with as in a call center environment its not possible to monitor how all the reps act at all times, often the only way to get insight into poor performance is from angry people telling you what happened

I support spikeybitz and the Warstore, mainly because I support 'pay where you play' and they are sponsors of events I play at so I drive an appropriate portion of my voting power to them.

Personally, I use frpgames.com for just about everything gaming related.

I'm not sure their actual discount, and you do have to phone in or email an order for GW stuff... but they are great for really everything.

The Warstore is where I do my bussiness. Even though I am just getting into Warhammer 40k.

The Warstore has always been polite to me as well as quick to respond and ship products!

Miniature Market and Warstore are my favorites. I agree with the other peeps, you need to call MM and explain their situation.

If your theory is to stay silent and just not use a vendor who has one rude employee (who they may not know about), then you'll quickly run out of places to shop at...eat at...,etc.

Just a quick point about FRPGames. Be careful with their stock levels. They sell a lot on ebay and i've had multiple issues with them not managing their inventory properly which resulted in me getting an email saying they sold what I bought. That was a few years ago and may not be an issue any longer.
