Hey folks,

I was having a lively discussion with another dakka-ite in the following thread:

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/487315.page#4951562

I would very much apprectiate a page number if any of you actually know the answer to this question.

Many thanks,
Dr G

Read pg 93.

Occupying buildings.

As well as firing from buildings.

Than realize that if you were using a multi-tiered building it wasn't a building at all but possibly a ruin, which uses completely different rules.

No, you can't have a unit spread over multiple parts.

This is because each part is really a seperate building for the purposes of the embarked units.

It was originally a unit of lootas occupying a bastion (and) it's battlements.

This means that a mob of 30 orks can't occupy an imperial bastion... ever?

Can you ever fit 30 orks in a trukk?

Embarking into vehicles requires the entire unit to embark. Have you done so for the bastion? No, as you are told the battlements are not part of the building for embarking purposes.

You can have as many units as can physically fit on battlements(they are normal terrain and not part of the building)

Plus the building has a transport capacity of whatever its size dictates.

Looks like I'm getting resounding... "Hell no you can't!" from the dakkanauts.

Noted.

Thanks for all your replies... I will adjust my game play accordingly. This means that I won't have to buy (or build) an Orky bastion at least! lol.

What's the size of the base of the Imperial Bastion by the way? 6x6? or 9x9?

6x6 IIRC we've been using them as terrain since they came out last ed.

Sub question:

Can a 30 boy mob therefore not move through a basic 6x6x9 building?

So it becomes "impassable" because it can't be partially occupied?

The reason I'm hacking at this is becuase it will definately affect gameplay of big squads. Especially in tournement play.

Thanks again,
DrG

Correct, a 30 strong mob cannot enter a medium building.

Just like they can't get into a Trukk or Battlewagon.

That is correct. A 30 man unit can never enter a building given the current capacity limits.

scrath that, i forgot about the 12x12 building can fit 30

No, there's just too many of them to fit.

A squad of 30 Chaos Cultists can't fit any more then a squad of 30 boyz.
