Basically just wanted to show some of the stuff I've done lately between assignments/readings for school as I'm quite proud of it considering where I was even a year ago (let alone 9 ).

First up is my Commissar. I love Commissars in the fluff, they're so badass, so I knew I had to get one for my little Guard army:

Aaaaand for good measure :

Next is my Doom of Malan'tai. Yes it is just a regular Zoanthrope with an extra-gory base, but all my other Zoanthropes are actually 3rd ed ones, so he actually looks much bigger and different in comparison. (btw, I'm probably going to get rid of the gloss at some point)

The idea with the dead Guardsman is that the poor sucker got hit with the Doom's Cataclysm and then this happened:

Here's some close-ups of the base:

A new squad of Grey Hunters with some added GK bits for flavour:

For reference, here's Njal (and some other characters I'm in the process of repainting) a year ago:

And here he is now:

And finally, a Runic Armour version of my Wolf Lord, Andilus Greatsword. I don't really care much for the Wolf Helmet head, but none of the non-helmeted heads in the box would have done him justice so I went with it. Also, I love how the Purifier sword turned out:

I also have been repainting Logan Grimnar, so he'll be coming soon as well... stay tuned.

Cool! Looking forward to new updates

lol, I haven't painted anything in 2 months. Ack, I need to get off my lazy chair and quit converting my leftover bitz. So I can paint.

Seeing a squad of veterens swoop in in a Vendetta, secure the area, deliver that math assignment, and extract within 2 minutes would be freaking sweet.

You should try thinning your paints, the paint looks very thick.

Also your minis look very shiny, were they dipped?

No, I spray them with a gloss sealer and then dullcote over that (the Tyranids are just glossed for now though). Could be the lighting exacerbating things too.

Try a matte clear coat and then follow up with dull cote. I think th gloss works for the tyranids, but not so much on the marines.

Other than that I rather like your gory miniatures!

They look really weird all shiny. Considering these are mostly all plastic models they wouldn't chip or anything. Why do it? The models are really well painted, but imho, the varnish sort of spoils it.

Ok, finished Logan Grimnar last night while watching The Howling IV (which was a piece of crap movie ):

I finished Logan Grimnar with over an hour left in the movie so I figured I'd touch up Ulrik the Slayer with the rest of the run time. I got him on ebay with a pretty good paintjob already, but I finally decided I could clean it up a little bit (mostly just fleshing out details, painting his backpack properly and making the metallics more pronounced):

And that's it for now. Lukas the Trickster and Ragnar Blackmane are eyeing me from my painting station though, so they'll be along before the end of the weekend I'm sure...

I think it's mostly the lighting, in person you can't see the shine so badly. Maybe I should move the lamp back a bit haha.

Thank you good sir! Maybe next time I'll upload a pic of my Swarmlord's base; there's a poor Guardsmen who got bone sabre'd and is clutching what's left of his lower half...
