I'm underwhelmed with these models.

Any other opinions?

I can get the full squad of Auto-guns from eBay for 8.99 and free shipping.

I'm not spending twelve pounds for five models that require at least 18 models to have any real use, even as cannon fodder.

After thinking about it some more:

GW has fethed up again!

They could have made some nice multi-pose cultists (that would have justified the cost very, very much since they're so fething popular) but no, they release this.

*slow clap

They aren't ever going to do this.

The Cultist models aren't bad, but the fact every squad is effectively five unique models, plus five with four doubles of the original excluding the Champion and Special weapon. It's a major problem for people like me who want to field squads of thirty, being that when you have so many copies of the same model it becomes boring and stale.

It isn't hard to convert them though; Imperial Guardsmen + Empire free company or Marauder's.

If you don't like them, don't buy them. Or better yet, Dark Vengeance bits sellers are standing by with better deals. $2 a model ain't bad, it's pretty standard for 28mm minis with that level of detail. Just a shame they didn't release unique sculpts.

Maybe they still will, they had the simple push fit guardsmen for some reason for a while didn't they?

I think they'll release a cultist kit sometime next year, but yeah, these guys are the same standard as the push-fit Cadians, Gaunts, Marines, Orks, Chaos Marines, and so on. I like the idea of those little packs.

As do I, but the pricing of the Cultists makes it difficult to justify.

I don't understand why everyone keeps whining over the small Cultist box. It's like many other similar mini-boxes (Space Marines, Orks etc), contains few snap-kit minis for Newbies or those who just need few extra bodies for their squad. GW will certainly release "real" Cultists kit at some point, it's a no-brainer.

Mr Vetock, give back my Multi-tracker!

Because it costs little to buy one of the Dark Vengeance squads on eBay.

...but say you don't need 20 Cultists, you need just 5 to max out your squad? And you don't want to wait for seller to ship, you need them in tournament in three days?

Then get the five pack, they aren't bad, just it's easy enough to make a full squad with the correct weapon options of eBay.

Waiting for my shill money from Spiral Arm Studios

GW is selling $2 models.

Better grab them while you can! They are 90 cents cheaper then Cadians, and a full $1.72 cheaper then a space marine.

The only sucky part is you are stuck with 2 CCW and pistol and 3 autoguns.

I'm pretty sure they aren't going to remain like this. All the factions have their little 'newbie/paintscheme box'

The 5 orks, 5 Cadians, 3 space marines, 5 gaunts and so on.

I'm personally thinking this is just another one of those.

Well, the end of the story for me is that I will not field Cultists. These weakly traitors will have no place in my EC based army.
In fact, there will be too less different models if you plan to field larger squads.

Looks like a stopgap measure to me. Just a (hopefully temporary) patch to their line to stop sales from bleeding off to other companies.

Without Champions and specialists, we still lack the options to build full squads, though.
