I remember being so excited the first time I saw the Jes Godwin sketch and the utter disappointment when I realized they were never going to make them.

Weres the back ground info for Sly Marbo? After all he is an anagram of Rambo. That article was definitely fun. Thanks for making that.

If not for the mediocre who would be great, and thank goodness for those who are just terrible they make even those who are mediocre look great

I remember all the articles in White Dwarf showing pictures of these catachans when they first came out and the rediculous scenery they made to photo them in. Foam balls painted lime green with cocktail sticks painted pink stuck into them to look like giant 'Deathworld' alien cacti. Haha.

Awesome. Funny because it's true?

It's spelled "cavalry." NOT "calvary."

Never anything more true has ever been said.

Games Workshop: Ruining Chaos Space Marines since 2007

First they raised prices on the Eldar, and I did not speak out because I did not play Eldar.

Then, they raised prices on the Orks, and I did not speak out because I did not play Orks.

Then, they raised prices on the Nids, and I did not speak out because I did not play Nids.

Then, they raised prices on the Marines, and there was nobody to speak out for me.

I Love those, i remember they were in the first ever white dwarf i picked up(during 2nd edition was orks V someone). in fact when i read the rules for spiker plants in the new rule book those are what i thought of

I'm guessing they don't show up anymore on GWs scenery/bat reps as they don't have enough skulls on

Hilarious. I saw Rambo the other day. I was reminded why it was thought he did not need armor. Almost has a 5+ ward save and BS 5 or 6.

They did come out at a time when GW were rolling out (basic) plastic kits replacing all the metal ones for most armies. All in all I think it was a decent time for 40K. It just sucked that you only got limited options regarding special/heavy weapons. Its still kind of true. Give us a Cadian/tac marine box with meltas and plasmas not flamers and grenade launchers...

You know how some people try and gets lots of beaky heads for their SM? I'd love to see Catachans where they all have the same head, painted the same way.

I did an amry of Catachan/Zombie hybrids and then started a SWAT team army where I covered their gorilla heads with green stuff.

So yeah they ain't half bad as long as they're not looking like Catachans!

Just got a good look a Catachans on the GW site, they look $%^&* atrocious....what the hell were they really thinking. Also the $30 USD price tag is a bigger joke.

I have a catachan IG force. All of them are the older metal models. They look good. I do wish I had more than one model of the Melta, plasma, and flamer guys. At least I have some variety with last chancers and tanith models. The plastic ones just look bad I will admit that.

In all honesty it got worse with the Cadians, none of which are under 7 foot tall.

I wonder if GW actually understands scale at all sometimes...

Great article tho.
