The list seems alright, i have played a flying circus list for many months now and i've found that FMCs just can't possibly put out as much damage as they cost. Drop one, probably two, maybe even all of them and add more troops, flamers, and screamers.

Agreed, Just played a very similar list in a tourney and found other than my screamers the army is very very elite. High quality low quantity.

I was able to beat out Necron flyer spam through denial units, and the fact I was playing for the secondary.
Beat out C:SM simply by killing off his troops and living through the fire barrage and spam coming my way.
Lost to Nids, Princes cannot deal with hordes in CC. Not in the least

I'm confident I can beat if not tie nids. I'm honestly more worried about orks horde. I'm new to this edition but not new to 40k. The idea behind the big birds is focus assault on one unit at a time and staying defensive. Im not the best strategic player but I know how to go for the win and tie uP units to deny an objective. I've been playing since 3rd btw...

Not enough troops for 1850. You are going to have yours get blown away and then when you do not table an opponent it will be a draw.

I would include 2 more units of Horrors at the cost of 1 Daemon Prince

Nonbeing, that is to say, everything.

Bring more flamers. Always bring more flamers. 27. Do it.
...
I have a friend who does a similar list, at 2k he has same 4 MC, 27 flamers and a bunch of screamers - i hate it. I've beat it once, and that was by basically making him forget what the objective was. He tried to kill me, I let him but made him work

Its absurdly effective.

Remember, flamers op.

I constantly am battling a deamons player, who basically spams flamers, screamers and well more flamers...

If i asked the question what can a deamon prince do that a flamer can't?
Flamers have a large movement, 2 wounds, cost 26 points, can very easily galnce a veichel or wipe out 5 marines on their own.
So for one daemon prince, you could have 9 flamers? I guarantee that flamers would cause much more destruction.

Secondly you have hardly any troops choice. It wouldnt be hard to wipe them out.
Thirdly against flyers, what do you propose to do?
fourthly any competitive grey knight list would probably KO you very easily. Warp quake is particularly nasty, and will cause you many problems. pyscannons also equal monstrous creature death.

Finally as you have mentioned, hordes, such as imp gun lines, or orc shoota boyzs, or nids will cause you many problems, particularly orcs and imp. with access to lootazs orcs, would mow you down, while imp could quite easily just lasgun you down aswell.

If you replaced your monstrous creatures with more screamers, flamers and troops in my opinion you would have a much better army list.

I think the idea is that he wants to use the FMCs. You are correct, FMCs are just plain bad if you are taking them to combat other flyers. They costs more points and cannot put out the hurt to the other flyer that they recieve in return.

Flamers are actually only 23 points, not 26, so even better.

Yes, we all know at this point that flamers and screamers are by far the best things in the Daemons codex, and they are what has put Daemons on the top of the pile in recent GTs. That said, I think the FMC spam can do ok, but if you end-up facing a flamer/screamer list with it, you might as well concede the game right off the bat.

FMC spam has decent survivability, but simply cannot bring the hurt enough to table an opponent. WIth the tiny amount of troops you can put on the table using this type of list, you definitely need to hide them, and hope that you are not facing any kind of horde army, as you will be beating your face against a wall, with little chance of killing enough to open up routes for your meager troops selections to snag objectives.

I was the same way, possibly a bit overconfident with the list. It's strong, however if you all play book missions you'll probably lose "the Relic" the majority of the time. Its such a hard mission for us imo.

I'm going to run a similar list at a tournament at our local Battle Bunker (Seattle). However I'm only running one Prince and Bloodthirster instead of the LoC. With the points I've freed up from the prince I've bought a few more Flamers and I'm running a 10x squad of Plaguebearers and a 10x squad of Horrors with Bolt and Changeling.

The missions are going be:

Relic: Larger troop squads will help here, Hopefully won't need more than two, as I'll throw everything else in my opponents face as hard as I can.
Big Guns: DPs are scoring, so they become more useful, giving me a total of 4 durable scoring units.
Purge the Alien: 5x squads of Plaguebearers and Horrors are more of a liability here, so again, fewer but larger troops are better.

When 6th first came out I ran a mostly FMC oriented list and I had trouble against my son's Nids. I haven't lost a game against him since the WD update, and I'm not even spamming Flamers.

I see that flamers an screamers are heavily needed, that dp are extremely overpriced an that the lord of change is a huge point sink. Its not tw most competitive, but then again neither was the tzeentch csm last edition and the guy at bao got in the top 10 using a "bad" list. Big birds are not supposed to table the opponent, they are made to tie up enemy units and deny objectives. The 2 screamer units I have as bak up for my horrors scoring objectives and the flamers are gonna be more than enough. I know screamers and flamers are op so I'm only including the amount I need I know I can pull a win with. Also I refuse to buy any more models until the new codex comes out as I'm short on cash and almost went back to csm until I found out there were all these new units needed to win a game.

Clearly the problem here is that you don't have quite enough fliers. Take out some of the screamers and flamers, and sub in an allied lord+csm squad and a baleflamer heldrake.

Heck, take out all your horrors, flamers, and screamers, go double trouble on the 2000-pt FC and bring Fateweaver, 6 princes, and 2 heldrakes. And I guess two squads of minimum sized nurglings.

Rofl you can't be serious this is a 1850 list for starters. Also, did you not read I'm refusing to buy more models until the next chaos daemons are released. By then I'll have about $500-2500 to invest in the army since it shouldn't be released too soon.

I've actually found the Relic to be the easiest to win.
I learnt the hard way that squads of 5 for troops is too weak. So instead of taking more, I just upped them to 10
10 horrors, 10 plague bearers. Its much harder to lose your changeling, or bolt horror, or icon bearer this way too.
With a skyshield platform you can put the platform up against the relic and jump on it turn one. Hopefully you're opponent will be dumb enough to try and make a break for it first, at which point you flame them.
