Front-line.

Out of all the loyal Primarchs at the beginning of the heresy. Who do you think was the most pissed that Horus and the other legions betrayed the Emperor?

This could be subjective, but I think it could have been Russ.

Why would you post this in the painting and modelling section? There's an entire section called background.

Anyways, it was probably either Sanguinius or Guilliman. Sanguinius because he loved Horus more dearly than any of his other brothers and Guilliman because he believed that he was more fit to be Warmaster; Horus' betrayal proved him right.

I think it would have been Corax or Vulkan. They exerienced the treachery first hand. They witnessed the slaughter of their Sons and were literally stabbed in the back at the Drop Site massacre.

Getting a message that your brother has become a traitor and having him actually ambush you and shoot you in the back are totally different things.

Ferrus Manus - he was rushing to fight Horus even when Dorn warned him to wait....
Russ & Vulkan second....

ADB: I showed the Wolves revealing the key weakness at the heart of the World Eaters; showing Angron that his Legion was broken and worthless compared to the others; that he was the one primarch who couldn't trust his own warriors, and that they didn't care if he lived or died; showing that loyalty to brothers and sons is the heart of success for the Legiones Astartes, to the point even Lorgar makes a big deal out of saying the World Eaters and their primarch were massively outclassed by Russ, and Angron was too stupid to see the lesson Russ had sacrificed time, sweat, and blood, to teach. We're talking about a battle the Wolves won, by isolating the enemy general through pack tactics, and threatening to kill him, without a hope of defending himself. It was a balance, 50/50 - Angron overpowered Russ, and the Wolves were losing ground to the World Eaters; but Russ and his warriors had Angron by the balls, and barely broke a sweat. They won, no question. Lorgar even says: "The Wolves won, meathead."

Dorn won’t help you either. He’s too busy being the Emperor’s groundskeeper, hiding behind the palace walls. The Wolf is too busy cutting off heads as our father’s executioner, while the Lion holds on to his secrets, and has no special fondness for you. Who else will come? Not Ferrus, certainly. Nor Corax either. Even as we speak, I suspect he flees for Deliverance. Sanguinius?’ Curze laughed cruelly. ‘The angel is more cursed than I. The Khan? He does not wish to be found. So who is left? No one, Vulkan. None of them will come. You are simply not that important. You are alone.’ Konrad Curze to Vulkan

I don't think having his battle fleet shot to bits by Fulgrim helped much. He went off very much half-cocked for vengeance after that.

I'd say Sanguinus was shocked as much as outraged, I can imagine him pleading with Horus as to why he did it when they faced off for the first and last time.

I like Dorn's reaction in The Lightning Tower as to what he might be afraid of concerning Horus' motives.

Guilliman strikes me as the sort that would put his hands over his face in that rubbing motion one does when you're exasperated, sigh mightily say "I knew it! I knew this would happen!", then put it to one side and get on with things.

Frankly , who knows what Vulkan thought, there's not exactly much fluff surrounding him other than him being all cryptic and leaving treats all over the galaxy like some deranged Easter Bunny.

I second this. Ferrus Manus always had an anger manangement problem. The Horus Heresy just made it that much worse.

I would say Ferrus Manus or maybe Russ they seemed the most ferociously loyal and I'll tempered.

Sanguinius and Corax I believe would be more upset/disappointed than angry. Although still angry obviously.

i thought Dorn was pretty pissed, both in The Flight of the Eisenstein and in the Lighting Tower. He was the most loyal of all the primarchs to the Emperor, so it would make sense that he would be pissed.

I' bet that Ferrus,Sangunius,Russ,Vulkan,Khan,Guiliman and Corax would disagree with that statment...

I think Sanguinius was pretty pissed off as well, because of the close relationship he had with horus prior to the heresy. Then again, that can probably be said of many of the primarchs who ended up on either side.

Manus was more enraged that Fulgrim turned his back on the Emperor and him and had the audacity to try and get him to join Horus betrayal.

This was what Manus was raging at, how his closest brother could turn on him. He went hunting Fulgrim on Istvaan, not Horus.

I don't think that any of the loyalist Primarchs raged at Horus for turning I think that they were more overwhelmingly amazed that the Emperors favorite could turn from his light. Shock and horror at what it meant for one so beloved could ever take up arms against their brothers. Utter betrayal not just against their father but all of them. They might have expected it from Angron or Curze, who was already rogue at this point, but Horus, also how he managed to sway so many of his brothers to his side.

Disbelief, bewilderment, helplessness, anger would be there but I think it would be a passing notion, I think they all felt fear in a way. Fear as to what the future held. For a Primarch this fear must have been the scariest thing in itself.
