After getting my graphics card for my computer, it came with a free copy of Far Cry 3. I played Far Cry 2 and that was not pleasant, the game wasn't bad I like the concept of it but that's a different story. I have seen some stuff on Far Cry 3 and it looks interesting the very little I saw. So people who have been following it, what do you think will be good and things you are concerned about or if you played it at events how was it? Personally the story is interesting to me but is the survival aspect still in as much and is stealth still an option like Far Cry 2.

You know Warhammer is getting to real when you being using 40K swears, for example "fug" and "Emperors Hairy Arse!" When writing this the word arse was not recognized, well done.

It is supposed to be a marked improvement on FC2. Frm the reviews that I have read all the good things that were in FC2 are kept and strengthened while a lot of the tediousness has been removed (for instance check points no longer respawn).

Do not underestimate the Squats. They survived for millenia cut off from the Imperium and assailed on all sides. Their determination and resilience is an example to us all.

Its just a shame that they couldn't fight off Andy Chambers.

YES! that was annoying in FC2, I actually applied a fan patch to eliminate that.

Any new features you looking forward to in the new game and thank god the tediousness will be gone, that did stunt my enjoyment of Far Cry 2 a little.

I'm looking to get this game. I'm just not sure if I want it on the Xbox360 or the PC. Most likely I'll get it on the PC. I've played about 15 minutes of Far Cry 1 and thought it was 'interesting'... never played Far Cry 2 though I have a copy i bought from Steam. I've been meaning to play it because i like the setting and stuff.

As far as features/expectations... I don't really have any... just so long as I can shoot a hand gun, I'm happy.

You should play it I enjoyed it for the time I played it, it's hard and stealth and planning are needed as you die quickly, the weapons also have durability and your gun will rust if you have it out in water. Though my game screwed me over but it was partly my fault and the games, but is worth playing.

If I could get my copy of Far Cry 1 to reinstall I'd do it... ever since GameFly took over Direct2Drive stuff I haven't been able to reinstall a bunch of my games.

Never played the first one, doesn't it have aliens or something?

Latter on you encounter some half animal have human types that totally throw off game balance. Unless your playing the x-box port in that you also gain animal powers so things balance out.

I'm really looking forward to far cry 3. It looks like a call back to far cry 1 with the island setting. I also noticed a power that lets you see smells. My only worry is that it's going to be too short.

The worst part of Far Cry 1 was the mutants. It was a super fun openish world romp killing semi intelligent mercenaries. Then the mutants ruined it.

They did the same thing in Crysis. It was all fun and games until the aliens showed up.

The end boss fight of farcry instincts took me close to 20 attempts before I beat it.

This was on a second hand xbox that would often crash during the very long and unskipable opening cinematic.

Even so I have fond memories of that game.

I stopped playing after the big mutant enclosure, it just wasn't that much fun anymore.

I didn't have that reaction. I felt the mutants came in at just the time I was totally sick of fighting mercenaries. It's also the problem I had with far cry 2. I got sick of just fighting mercenaries half way through the first map. Then I totally flipped my lid when I realized there was a second huge map. "You mean I need to do all this a second time!"
