Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high

The 1st sunday of the month is coming up again, and once more I will be playing in a local tourney.
I wanted to change it up from my wraith wing lists, and wanted to try silver tide instead.
However, I dont own any Ghost Arcs yet (Christmas wish list)
Original Idea
Spoiler:
Here is what I came up with
Overlord 160 (WS/MSS/SW/RO)
x10 Immortals (Tesla) 170
x10 warriors 130
x9 Warriors 117

A Barge 90
A Barge 90
A Barge 90

Triarch Stalker 150 ( Debating dropping for more troops, but at the same time MC's worry me)
997 points

Current Idea

Overlord WS/SW/MSS/RO 160 in immortals
Cryptek w/ Lance 35
x10 Immortals (Tesla) 170
x15 warriors 195
x5 Warriors in scythe 65
Night Scythe 100
A Barge 90
A Barge 90
A Barge 90

I don't know what models you have readily available, but I would do:

Overlord, Res Orb, Warscythe, Sempiternal Weave
Harbringer of Despair, Abyssal Staff, Veil

20 Warriors
5 Warriors
5 Warriors

2 Anni Barges
3 Spyders

5 Scarabs

Total: 1000

You get a more mobile and far tougher Warrior Blob. You also get a mini farm, which is always nice.

I've never tried a farm list, personally, but its not a bad idea.
Only worry is if that 20-man squad mishaps, i'm up a creek 300 points

You could always just take a D-Lord with Res Orb and Weave instead. Drop the Veil-tek and use the extra points on some more Warriors or Scarab bases. Then the blob of 20 has fearless and preferred enemy

Won't MCs go to town on a stalker?

If you're going to silver tide you want to have some buffer against assaults! Arks help but a couple scarabs are great at dying to a charge and give you another turn to rapids fire something while having other uses.

I may be a fifth edition dinosaur but I still quite like walking warriors up with an ark full of lanceteks. If you can keep the blobs out of assault and the ark up and ordinance to a minimum your warriors will be really hard to deter and out rapid fire most things.

It's just a show, I should really just relax... It's just a show, I should really just relax... It's just a show, I should really just relax... It's just a show, I should really just relax...

I was thinking more using the high powered gun to wound them, then let my army be twin-linked against them. If I were to drop it, what would you suggest i take with the extra 150 points?

Well I love anything that makes immortals or crypteks better, but barges don't benefit much from the twin linking eh?

And I'll say again all your hard work might be for not if your poor silver buddies get toe to toe with something. They aren't shooting that way and you buy necron troops for shooting.

MCs and pie plates and fast assault units will be most of your issue. You might also have a pain dealing with backfielders.

I agree, those would indeed be my weak points. Ideas for improvement? I could drop the stalker, take a night scythe, and throw a beefed up warrior squad in it maybe...gives me another tesla destructor, ranged firepower, mobility and late game scoring?
List would look like

Overlord WS/SW/MSS/RO 160 in immortals
Lord w/ warscythe in immortals 45 in immortals
x10 Immortals (Tesla) 170
x10 warriors 130
x10 Warriors in scythe 130
Night Scythe 100
A Barge 90
A Barge 90
A Barge 90

List gives me more str 7 tesla destructors, more mobility, and a decent counter-assault unit in the dual-warscythe toting immortal squad. thoughts?

Maybe I could make the overlord Arankyr, and take a despairtek to teleport the immortals around?

Hahahah heres a horrible Idea!

2x minimal bargelord
4x 5 immortals and 2 lance teks!
+20 points of whatever
I guess you could find room for a gauss stalker in there if you were a real dork but that's just silly.
Probably could find some corners to cut with those barges to get more shooting.

Ummm potentially you could go

2x 10 immortals (up to you what sort)
1x 10 gauss immortals + nightscythe
1x Illuminor whats his face.
3x tesla barge
somehow find 20 points worth of crap.

Pretty much all of the illuminors bonuses are decent on a drop squad of gauss immortals. Even the gaze of defensive grenades, though I'd want him farther behind shooting from 24 or something at least every turn.

Looks quite good. But the 2nd Lord is a waste. How about a Cryptek here?

@wuestenfux
I figured the extra warscythe would be helpful for counter-assault, but this is a shooting list, i ought to focus on shooting i guess.

If you want to go the Scythe route:

Overlord, scythe
2 Storm-teks
2x7 Immortals in Night Scythe
5 Warriors
3 Anni Barges
5 Scarabs

998

A bit more balanced. No reason to have 10 models sitting around or running from reserves to grab an objective-- just take 5 Warriors. In my experience, 7-8 Immortals with a Stormtek can handle lots of situations. The key is dropping them correctly.

I just hate lords that are there to be close combat nannies if you aren't making any more use of them.
