Forgive my bad typing on the phone....

So if a ork nob is issued a challenge... And they refuse. The next round is the opponent able to issue another challenge? Or no since only 1 challenge per combat?

People have played it that you can challenge every round...

You can challenge every round.

You can only have 1 challenge going on per combat.

But when does a combat end? Pg 26 seems to suggest it keeps going if the losing side doesn't run away... Which means once the original challenge is done... It's done.

If each round is a new combat... That means the first round of combat is every round?

You can challenge every round as long as conditions are met. A) you have a charactger B) the opposition has a character C) Both are "engaged" D) there is no ongoing challenge in the combat.

You can only have one challenge going on at a time in a particular combat. If a challenge is not going on, one can be issued. Regardless of previous accepting or refusing.

See.... this is where I'm having trouble... the first 2 paragraphs where it says issuing a challenge says "only one challenge can be issued per combat."

while I agree with the list of requirements above are accurate for issuing the first challenge... I'm not so sure you can challenge a second time. I'm not trying to be difficult, just trying to really look at this in a different light.

I guess the real question is, If only one challenge can be issued per combat (this is BOLDED in the challenge rules), when does a combat end? There really is no place it says a combat ends in the rules except if you kill/force the opponent to run away... It says the "fight sub phase" ends....

Maybe the paragraphs under round 2 on page 65 can help here. It says:

"Even though further challenges cannot be issued in a combat until the existing challenge has been resolved, there is the possibility that another character in the fight might intercede in a Glorious Intervention"

If you refuse the challenge it gets resolved, a challenge was issued it got declined, challenge is over. Next round since that challenge is over you can declare it again.

So even if you are debating whether the combat phase ends or not, this sentence clarifies that you can issue additional challenges as long as they isn't one already

This is how i thought also... then rereading the section i realized that the glorious intervention only works if the challenge is still ongoing, and has not been completed. Glorious intervention does not violate the page 26, "Issue only one challenge per combat" rule that is in bold.

Even if refusing the challenge the challenge is resolved..., You've ISSUED the one challenge you're allowed to issue according the rules. Which to me says no more challenges after the one refusal...

Look at P.65 "Challenges are issued at the start of the Fight sub-phase, before any blows are struck. Only one challenge can be issued per close combat -"

Context dictates that this means the current round of combat.

So only one challenge may be issued per round of close combat.

The main reason I read it otherwise is the start of the third paragraph:
Once one challence has been made, no further challenges can be issues in that combat whilst the previous challenge is ongoing.

The bold part is 100% unnecessary as you read it. It reinforces the common(or perhaps just my) reading.

So if the challenge is declined, the decliner sit out till either side wins or do you have to rinse and repeat with challenging.

Im of the school if I issue a challenge and you refuse your out of the fight till that fight is resolved with a winner. Also if there is a challenge and a winner from the challenge emerges then a new challenge can be started.

Incorrect on the first point, correct on the second.
If a challenge is refused, there *IS* no challenge - that's kind of the point in refusing - so starting next round, you can challenge again.
Likewise, if a challenge is won but the overall combat continues, that challenge has finished, meaning there's room for another to take its place. Again, only from the next round though.
