Hey guys, heres a quick 1500 points list that I plan on running in the near future.
Company Command Squad - 4 plasma guns, chimera - 165
Veterans - 3 plasma guns, chimera - 170
Veterans - 3 plasma guns - 115
Veterans - 3 plasma guns, forward sentries, Harker - 200
Veterans - 3 melta guns, chimera - 155
Veterans - 3 melta guns - 100
Vendetta - 130
Vendetta - 130
Demolisher - 165
Demolisher - 165
1495 points
The veterans without rides (other than Harkers vets) grab a vendetta each.
Any thoughts?

I was going to comment on the list last night and if im correct you had medusas instead of demolishers right? I like this better with the demolishers because the demolishers have the armor to advance where as the medusas dont, their chimera chasis would get torn apart by most enemy fire where it would take the strongest weapons to crack the leman russ. Where all the vet squads in chimeras are around the leman russ will be well guarded from assaults as well. Nice list.

You are correct, my last version had medusas. I decided on the Demolishers due to the fact that they will draw the majority of my opponents anti tank firepower, allowing my chimeras to close relatively unmauled by enemy guns.
Thanks

I would say the demolishers are better. The list is pretty solid so to be honest not much to really change as you have pretty much everything covered. Maybe with the spare points throw a Bolt gun on your Company commander for extra shooting range and rapid fire to try and get some extra wounds. Maybe throw them on your vets as well( dont have the codex on me at the moment but i believe the Vet sergeants could take boltguns maybe im wrong and its only the pistol). But anyways its just some filler points.

I was going to remark on your use of Flamers in the Vets squads but I see you adjusted that. I do think Flamers are important, but it is a waste of the Vets' BS4. When I Mech-up, I run mainly Vets but then I also toss a minimum Platoon in Chimeras. I run the PCS with four Flamers to make up for the BS3 and Infantry squads with a Flamer or an Autocannon depending on the role I want them to cover. I also have great success putting Special Wpn squads with Flamers or Meltas into the Vendettas, so in case the Flyer gets shot down, I'm only losing a small throw-away unit. I think you have a really solid this here though and you can do a lot with it. My only advice is that when you do need Flamers, don't put them on Vets.

Thought about rolling a Manticore or 2? Also Vendetta's are a must have! They wreck house for the small amount of points they cost!

My list has changed in the month or so its been up.
The harkerstar isnt in any more, in favour of a regular plasma vet squad, the demolishers are now basic russes and there are two more chimeras.
Thanks for the bump though

Lol, I didn't realize how old the thread was. Do you primarily play IG, or do you have other Armies? I am trying to find some experienced IG players to explain the Tactics of a Mech/Air Cav list.

I primarily play mechanised guard at the moment, but was an ork player in my first outing to 40k about 9 years ago until my dad bought me some cadians to play against and I fell in love haha.
In the Tactics forum, there is an IG thread that should give you all the pointers you need
