I really love this model but it just isnt practical to use in the game because the base is so big for what essencially its just for show. It just isnt practical and it is quite a disadvantage.

What i want to to know is, how have people converted this model to make it ingame friendly. Could you post pics here to give me inspiration/ideas on how to approach this conversion? I was thinking of making the outstretching hand pointing but then the pose is all wrong. I need ideas peoples!

cheers

Only one I've seen is Jeff Dunster's paramedic and organ donor conversion on a bike base (40k lozenge style).

Not many Ariadna players around here (Newcastle) with that model - and we're outnumbered by Haqqis anyway.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

That is not dead which can eternal lie ...

I made him so he's pointing. While not optimal, I don't think the pose is that bad. Looks like a guy crouching to hide or get cover.

Switch them arms. It worked for me!

Cheers skyfury, that is sort of the idea that i had, is the pointing finger done with green stuff or did you pin a wire in there?

It's the hand of a Naffatun (that naffatun now has the hand of a Hmg wielding line kazak (the one with the thumbs down))

If you pick up the Ariadnan Intel SpecOps, there's actually a piece in there that will be great for you.

Upper left hand corner, no pun intended. It's an alternate left arm option which includes a pointing/balancing hand.

Isn't in the upper left hand corner?

I don't know what you're referring to, Alphy.

Clearly I did not typo before I woke up all the way.

It is excellent advice, and I'll be doing the same thing.

Thanks Kanluwen!

The best part is, since the Intel's hand is gloved there's no sculpting necessary either!

I snipped the handles from the backpack leaving the hand on the model and made a knife blade from plasticard. Resulting in ..

Left arm had to be bent a bit so it wasn't totally straight. Saves having to use bits from other models. Also isn't the Intel's arm covered whereas the weapon arm on the para commando is bare to show off his muscles?

Very nice work bantha_beast!
I assumed that Kanluwen meant that you would just take the gloved hand from the Spec-Ops' arm.

Great idea! Nice and simple. He looks like he just did a coup de grace on an enemy!

Yeah, either that or he's sneeaking up on someone he's about to stab.
