First off my name is Mike, I am 24 and from the UK (moving to Australia in Jan 13).
When i was 15 i was always in the gamesworkshop when ever i took a trip up 'town' but never really understood the game or had any talent with the brush. long story short (and in the present) I popped round to a work collegues house after work for a brew, when i noticed a display case in her dining room, full of......yes warhammer 40k, turns out my work collegues husband is a 40k fanatic, he has 5000 points worth of orcs, 7000 points worth of space marines, 6000 points worth of tyrinids and a few bits n bobs of imperial gaurd. Needless to say i wanted to meet this guy, and after meeting him, i decided to start collecting, I actually found a razorback tank i bought when i was 15 in the attic which i use in todays battles (after cleaning it up a little). A black reach box set later and a pretty penny spent, I now have a 4000 point army, my mistake was i got a bit carried away buying stuff, that i never finished painting all of my models :(.

Me, my partner and son are now moving to Australia in Jan, so i have now lost my battling partner, never really visit the gamesworkshop, as this guy had all sorts of terrain and battling has been so much fun! I am quite gutted to be leaving as I have really grew to love battling, worried that i may never battle again.....so hoping there are people on here that are from Australia that would like to battle? I've joined this forum in order to meet new people, discuss painting techniques, and hopefully share pictures and get some honest opinions about my painting, theres only so many times your mrs can say "wow, thats really good" when i know its sub-standard haha.

This is the first time i have joined a warhammer forum, but i can already see looking through previous threads it will be worth it, cant wait to get to know you guys.

As Rotgot suggested, put a post in the find a game forum. There seem to be quite a few Australians here, and it is very likely that you will be able to find some battle brothers in you new home.

He was my first opponent and took the time to help me learn the rules (and now the new ones too). I just hope I find a new regular opponent when I move :(
