I like him because he doesn't cost much more than a normal chappy but will not just get challenged by a sergeant with a power fist and get killed instantly also if you happen to have 25 points (correct me if i'm wrong) up your sleeve and can't think of where to spend it, you now have a place

He's an extreme upgrade to the standard chaplain for only 25 points.

Agreed. The upgrade is so cheap that you'd be a fool not to take him if you're going for a Chaplain anyways.

I played him for the first time this week. And toughness 6 pays off well for only 25 extra points... Also he has a pretty unique / generic look compared to most chaplains so you could easly put one together from spare parts.. I will post up a pic later of the one my son made for me...

I finally got around to converting one, but have not fielded him yet. His one big problem is that he lacks a jump pack, so he needs to be on foot, in power armor. But he is dirt cheep for what you get. If you are going to walk/drive/drop, he's better then a generic chaplain. If you want jump pack, or TDA (so you can teleport) you will need to work with the basic HQs.

While only in PA, if you stick him in with assault terminators, a 2+ armor save is just a 2+ LOS roll away.

Yeah i was thinking of using him in tandem with assault terminators

He's very cool, but doesn't see much play since he is neither in Terminator armor or wearing a jump pack. You could run him with Terminators, but frankly there isn't much they won't kill already without him though.

I never understood the "not in termi armor" thing with him. Other than teleporting, he comes with FnP... so he's got a better save than 2+

Except against AP3 weapons, which are fairly common with power swords and lightning claws. It's not a dealbreaker, but a lot of folks like teleoprting in their Terminators.

Although I don't disagree... he's also got T6 for PS and LC

I fought him for the first time this weekend and he actually held his own in a challenge for 1 1/2 turns vs my Wolf Lord who's kitted to be a character-killer. For 125pts he's a freaking steal.
