I just got me some WGT and was wondering what the best loadout would be. Do i go spam or do i mix it up? What are their best weapon choices? I was thinking of running 4 with Logan and putting one with a cyclone in a long fang pack. Ive seen a lot of threads about the best loadouts and they all seem to end up in arguments with no conclusion. Is there an answer!!??

In your squads, doing the chainsword tango

1-2 with SS, TDA, PW
1 w/ TDA, AC/Cyclone/HF, PW
1 w/ TDA, SB/combi, Chainfist
2ish w/ TDA, SB/combi, PW/claw
2 w/ PA, combi's

Add 1 WGBL w/ SoTH

outflank!

So no thunder hammers? In 5 man squad do I only need one SS?

Generally naked is better. The WG terminators are incredibly cheap if you run them SB, power axe. Throw in a few combis, a SS or two and you're golden.

If you have enough points, PF, WC works really well - you get +1 attack and choose if you want AP2 or AP3.

Star Trek taught me so much. Like, how you should accept people, whether they be black, white, Klingon or even female...

I'm still a huge chainfist fan, mostly for aesthetic reasons, but they do disturbingly well with just power axes, storm bolters, and an assault cannon or CML.

Is there any point taking mark of the wulfen with such a heavily oriented CC weapon squad? Am I right in saying that they only use 'teeth and claw' with the wulfen and not conventional CC weapons thus ignoring any of their benefits?

I usually run 1 in 5 man, 2 for anything bigger. although i haven't run 5 man in awhile...
And what do you need a TH for??? It's just a powerfist with concussive. Chainfist deals with vehicles much better, and also does the same role as a TH against infantry. Except if they survive the CF they hit at initiative, so why exactly do you need them?

I think axes made termies a lot better, leaving points for shooting weapons and a chainfist. Exact load out of shooting weapons will depend on your desired delivery system, as that changes what weapons are optimal.

Combi plasma, power axe, rinse, and repeat. Prescience the unit before double tapping the plasma.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

In a high point game I take 10, put 7 in TDA in a Crusader with a Wolf Lord to guide them. The other 3, also in TDA, lead GH packs and are just SB/PA

Current loadout:

TH/SS - 1
PA/SS - 1
CF/SS - 1
WC x2 - 2
AC/PF - 1
Cyclone/PF - 1

Wolf Lord has a WC/PF

There aren't too many things this unit can't handle if they can get them in to combat. It has yet to lose a fight. Of course, sometimes it doesn't get to the fight, since it does attract a bit of attention but hey, that's the way of the Russ.

Why take MotW when you get a power weapon for free? Seems like you're paying for a side-grade. MotW doesn't seem all that great unless its on GHs with the banner anyway...

I was thinking this, it just seems unnecessary with WGT.

Thanks for the input anyway guys. I haven't yet assembled them but i will prob go along the lines of :

SB/CF x 2
SS/PA x 1 (WGL)
MM/PF x 1
Then either Plasma/PA or AC/PA

My box set didnt come with cyclones! So they are a no go for now.

This is what I would recommend too.

My three cents:

If being seconded off to units of BC or GH, I usually pack them with a combiweapon, usually a combimelta, and a fist.
If in their own unit, I try to kit them to a particular purpose... shooty - combiweapons, cc-based wc and th/ss approach. (you'd be surprised how useful the SS is to mitigate power armor's failings, and as an escort unit for ragnar... albeit an expensive one.
If in TDA and seconded, usually a chainfist, power axe, and SB to eat high strength but not low AP shots, though a SS/TH will definitely eat lascannon and melta blast for you.
If a full TDA unit, either a combination with SB/PF/CF and wolf claws thrown in for versatility with whatever heavy weapon I take,
OR
If guarding logan/njal, etc. 4x TH/SS and Hflamer with a chainfist. - this unit pounds face like no other... especially against things like demon princes, greater demons, and the larger tyranid creatures.

What about Frost Blades? Worth it? or would I be better off having a couple Frost Axes in a squad?

Currently my group would look like:

2x w/ Frost Axe/Combi-plasma/TDA
1x w/ Chainfist/SB/TDA
1x w/ Double Wolfclaws/TDA
1x w/ SB/PW/CML/TDA

The last one would probably attach to a group of ML LF while the other four are used in either a drop pod with an HQ or some other kind of role depending on the game. Or am I better off taking six for a full squad of five while the one detaches to join the LF?

Frost weapons got shafted in 6th, it's better just to spend the same points on a Power Fist in all honesty.

I put mine in a LRC so shooting is of very low priority. The flamers are only there to help thin out large hordes if I'm going to charge into one.

Arjac
x2 with WC/PF
x1 chainfist and Heavy Flamer
x1 stock guy with power weapon
x2 PAWG one with combi flamer

I love this loadout and it has all the tools to deal with anything it runs into.
