I'm working on trying out some shooty space wolves as allies for my shooty and slightly assaulty all comers GK builds but trying hard to figure out what models to buy is very confusing.

The rest of the list looks like:
coteaz, purifier psycannons
some henchmen bodies with plasma
DK
Storm raven
psyfle dread
aegis line

Thinking of the following for space wolves but wondering on what people would recommend for the following slot builds:

HQ's - taking 2 rune priests with like a bolter difference to keep points down. one to take jaws, one to take divination to buff long fangs or grey hunters. Anything else that should go into these guys as good investments?

Elite - a lone wolf probably if anything at all to just be a pure distraction. Not sure how to build this guy either after messing around for a while. term armor + storm bolter and a power axe?

Grey hunters - probably take drop pods with meltas? how do you guys usually run these guys now a days? People seem to love plasma lately too. Jaws priest probably run with one of the groups anyway.

Long fangs - Missles are still the way to go? Or is it better with like all multi-meltas or maybe all las cannons or something else? These guys are probably the biggest headache for me so far in how to build them as I don't have anything that I can sub in and trying to find the right models to buy. Would stick a priest back here to buff them with prescience. Hopefully getting perfect timing to deny cover saves would be really good with these guys.

Help me out dakka!

Skip the Rune Priests, since their Staves will shut down your GK psychic powers. Go with a pair of Wolf Priests to give the units Preferred Enemy instead.

I might consider that wolf priest for the back field one since they may be squished up against other GK units, you're right on that part. I figured that I can just position them such that they are 24' from anything that really needed psy powers. Despite the handicap, most times I'm just buffing units with coteaz, there's little else that really needs to cast things in the back field save for warp quake and that one is kind of situational.

Drop pod melta and jaws to the enemy's rear seems like a good idea anyway XD

I played GK with SW and the Runic Weapons rarely affected my GK through smart placement. I think taking some SW in Drop Pods would add a nice dimension, especially if you can get 3 Pods so that 20 Wolves plop down immediately. I'd never recommend a Lone Wolf by himself though.

good point, I can buy a 3rd drop pod with like an 18 point wolf guard by himself too I just realized. That can take the place of the lone wolf so it'd be extra harrassment. 1 man suicide drop pod with like a flamer or meltagun or something I guess.

Well I would shy away from taking a 1 man squad, but you could always take a good number of Wolf Guard and outfit a few of them with combis to give yourself a cheaper Sternguard-like squad.
