I am looking to get some new boardgames for Christmas. Ideally they shouldn't be too complex, be playable with 2 players and not very competative (or they may end in divorce, this is why monopoly is off limits).

1 game that I am thinking of getting is Last Night On Earth. Is this better than Zombicide and does it work well with 2 players?

The prefect example of someone missing the point.
Do not underestimate the Squats. They survived for millenia cut off from the Imperium and assailed on all sides. Their determination and resilience is an example to us all.
-Leman Russ, Meditations on Imperial Command book XVI (AKA the RT era White Dwarf Commpendium).
Its just a shame that they couldn't fight off Andy Chambers.

My answers to both of those question's is a resounding No...

If your looking for something that won't get between you and presumably your wife I would highly suggest a Co-Op game. If their avaible by you I highly recommend Pandemic and Flash Point: Fire Rescue.

I agree with Pandemic, I would also recommend Ticket to Ride, and maybe Small World since that game can be played really laid back.

Small World is better with more then 2 people in my opinion, but Ticket to Ride is one of my favorites.

Check out A Touch of Evil by Flying Frog - I own all of their games and that one and Fortune and Glory can be played co-op and work very well with two players, unlike Last Night on Earth and Invasion From Outer Space. I'm partial to the Sleepy Hollow vibe of AToE.

And I would say Last Night on Earth is better than Zombicide.

If youre open to card games; GLOOM is a great one. (you try to make your players as depressed as possible, then kill them.) lol

Also; Red-Neck Life is freaking insanely funny.
Just like life, with alot less teeth.

Gloom is a pretty great game. Saw it on Wil Wheaton's Youtube show Tabletop (which reviewed a few other games mentioned here, like Pandemic and Last Night on Earth) and is a great source for board game reviews.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.
Play the games that make you happy.
