Even though there is already a thread about the Through the Breach Kickstarter over in the N/R forum, I thought I'd start something over here as well but focus specifially on the game play and evolution of the fluff.

AS most of you probably know Mack, with the help of other people at Wyrd, is putting on a weekly Breach Side chat where he takes peoples questions and answers them. These are the answers that sparked my intrest from the first weeks chat.

- Dispostion, this is going to provide a crossover between the RPG and the Minatures Game. Basically its going to be a way to take your RPG character and play it with the minatures game and vice versa. This has some interesting potential when it comes to campaign type settings for both of the games..

- It doesn't sound like there will be an online or app based character generator, but there might be something to help track your character.

- Goblins don't poop.

- Not every character and use soul stones.

- Players share a fate deck, but each player gets to design their own 13 card twist deck. Twist decks will be a drawn from a fate deck but will improve over time.

- The first book will only give player optinos for Human characters, but it was strongly hinted that we will see an announcement in the next several weeks that would change this.

- Crafting seems to be important. The example of replaceing a lost limb with a pnuematic one was given.

- The RPG doesn't use minis as the default combat option, but there will be an option to do this. Possibly going back to the Dispostion.

- There is no solid answer on a fate screen yet, again it was strongly hinted that this will change. Maybe a possible stretch goal?

- A skill check is going to consist of the relavant stats plus a card flip - Stat 1 + Stat 2 + Flip vs. Difficulty. Most of the difficulties will be set in stone i.e. jumping a certain distance, picking a lock, etc.

- When your health reaches zero you don't die, but bad things start happening to you. The example of loseing an eye, finger or arm was given.

- Weapon damage and health will work alof like the minatures game but will most likely be scaled down.

- There are 8 stats, 4 mental and 4 physical. When you generate your character you will flip a card once for mental and once for physical. Each of these flips will give you an array of 4 numbers that will add up to +1. You will then distrubute the numbers to your stats with 0 being considered an average skill. The higher your initial flip the more well rounded and less focused your character will be. After you asign the array you will be given a small number of bonus points to spend to increase your stats. During character creation your really looking for a well rounded character.

- There will be prusuits and advanced prusuits. Prusuits are easy to change between while advanced prusuits are more story driven.

- There are 4 ways to improve your character over the course of the game:
1 - Skills improve over time as they are used.
2 - The longer your on a prusuit the more skills and triggers you get.
3 - Twist deck.
4 - Every time you complete a step on your destiny you'll increase and atribute(skill I think).

- There will be pets/familiars but they aren't tied to a class.

- A fatemaster deck is just a regular fate deck but it will have some additional player aids on it.

I'm interested to see the following:

1) Character creation. I would like to see this "tea ceremony" idea play out. I can see that character creation can take a while long time in comparison for a whole party. Though as someone that takes forever to generate an idea for a RPG, this might help speed me up lol

2) Combat, I would like to see a round of combat, triggers, etc.. Mack answered my question about the Twist Deck. I think it's an interesting mechanic. Just for the "ambiance" of the game, I might search for high quality tarot sized decks of playing cards for my players to use for the Fate Deck and their Twist Decks. Also will help my blind arse see

3) It should be noted that while goblins don't poop, he said nothing about gremlins

Hopefully we will see more on character creation soon. It sounded like he was going to try and get Eric to video creating a character soon.

The way Mack was talking, it seemed like this was a thing, and if it wasn't, he certainly through Eric under the bus with how sure he was about it lol

I'm actually toying with submitting a few questions for the next Breach Side Chat.

Specifically I'd like to know if this RPG falls more into the realm of an RPG or a story driven skirmish game? From what I've heard so far it could be both.

If it falls more into the realm of an RPG how dependant is it on a map/tiles?

Will penny dreadfuls be offered in a bound form or is my only avenue to purchase the PDF?

Will I be able to buy additional character sheets?

Is this a system that could be played online or at a disatance either using Skype or a fourm/email/group?

I would love to see plenty of these answered too, may I take a stab at them?

1) I think it falls more into the realm of an RPG. I believe Mack mentioned that the default way to play did not include minis. If you're including minis into your game, that is where the dispositions come in, where you convert your RPG character into the table top game and play it out on the board. (as a side note: Mike Krahulik from Penny Arcade had this idea when he was getting into Warmachine two years ago with his DnD 4E group). That is to say, I believe you can also have a table top version with maps and tiles, but I forsee it being similar to the IKRPG where you won't count out squares, but you'll measure out.

2) When they announced the thank you reward of In Defense of Innocence, they said a pdf of their first adventures. Couple that with the comment Mack made about anything being produced for this game will be bound in a book, it might be a safe bet to assume that yes, it will be released as a supplement in real, physical form.

3) They might just put a pdf up on the website under downloads like many others do, or include a character sheet in the back of the book like other RPG books.

4) Nathan made mention about wanting to play in a game online. This might be a good way to test Ratty's Vassal Malifaux.

But I would totally submit those and see if they get taken care of.
