So I had a game a few days ago and my opponant was Eldar. What I thought was interesting was that he was casting Doom on my units that were embarked inside of a transport. Now his reasoning was that, since it doesn't need line of sight, he can do this. So my question thus is two fold: Is it possible for an Eldar Farseer to do this and, if so, what about other units that do not require line of sight? Does the Grey Knight power Astral Aim, which does not require LOS allow me to do this? Can the tyranid hive guard do this? What about witchfire, malestrom and nova?

Psychic powers that do not require LOS can hit a unit embarked upon a Transport (inferred via Page 67, Declare Target). So Doom would work. Astral Aim has a specific restriction regarding embarked units. Normal Shooting attacks cannot target an embarked unit. Witchfire powers (in general) require LOS and as such cannot. It appears, however, that Maelstrom and Nova powers can affect a unit embarked as they do not require LOS. However, I don't think that it is intended.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

I am in no way complaining about it, the Eldar need as much help as they can get. So the Hive Guard can I take it?

Excellent. When our local Tyranid player saw the farseer doing this at the table, I could swear I saw the gears turning in his head. At least I think they were gears, hard to tell with them.
