Hey guys
this project been a long time in the works, lots and lots of planning!
I will be fielding this army as chaos and its NOT going to look chaos.
I believe I'm going to get a lot of criticism for taking that approach, but i love the chaos codex way too much!

So the basic plan of this army is to start with the marines and work my up
order will be going:
Marines -> Cultists -> Dark apostle and demon prince -> Rhinos and Defiler -> Raptors -> Vindicator
ill tick these off as i go along and will post pics up to keep anybody who is interested up to date (in truths its just really here to keep me motivated)


Update 1:

So i have one squad of the marines completely built, as you can see im primarily using Anvil Industries bits to make my marines
also i am using death guard shoulder pads, but they will be made up to not look anything like death guard shoulder pads ( only decent shoulder with a skull on it)

Also i apologizes for the lack of quality in the pics im using my phone camera which is terrible!

Massive fan of Anvil Industries' weapons, and I'll eagerly watch this as it progresses!

What bodies did you use for your marines? They are very interesting. Keep up the good work.

I love the look, it's what I'd love my chosen to look like. Less of the overly corrupted, "look how much chaos loves us" look, and more of a solemn "Don't mess with us" look.

Hi Guys just posting a few more pics of the troops iv assembled today!
been off sick all day so got to do something constructive!

whats been assembled is the last squad of Chaos Marines, and the majority of my Cultists!
im really digging the cultists models im using! fit perfectly into my Inquisitorial cannon fodder oops! i mean Troopers

found macro settings on my mobile, so the pics should be a tad clearer this time around!

These look really good and remember Chaos is more than just sikes and tentacles.

Well they aren't called 'them boyz with spikes' by the orks for nothing you know, but tentacles do turn me off ...

Anyway I love you de-chaos'd chaos marines, they look so dark and grim. For some reason they remind me of the Fallen Angels but probably just me.

Small Update:

Still waiting for the majority of the army to arrive in post, thought id put together my dark apostle and get some testers minis organized!

Im using the Inquisitor Coteaz model but i swapped out the bird arm for a plasma pistol, not my finest work but he still looks bad arse!

Also im not the best painter in the world, i wouldn't even class myself an ok painter, these minis are mainly going to be just table top quality and that's about it!
so now that i don't have anybody's hopes built up here are some pics

This is looking very good, I always wanted to do a Not-so-chaosish-chaos army my self

With the cloaks, the way i do mine is:

Undercoat.
1 shade darker than the colour of the cloak all over.
Drybrush the colour of the cloak on top ( E.g. on the raised bits of the folds, leaving the sunken in bits darker)
Light drybrush of a highlight colour.

Very small painting update!

Started on my Dark Apostle (inquisitor)
this model will be a fraction different to the rest of my army, as im speed painting marines and cultists, i wanted to take my time on the HQ units.

im chuffed with how the Armour turned out on my Apostle, its taken me all day shading and mucking around with it to get it to a stage im happy!
here are some pics, the lighting is terrible so ill attempt better photos tomorrow during the day as you cant see the shading in the Armour properly.

New update

Know i am doing this totally out of my original order, but im just assembling and organizing as i receive stuff in the mail.
So my update today is for my Daemon Prince and Vindicator stand ins

For my daemon prince im using a Hi-Tech Minitures ArchFather Gabriel model, one of my favourite models
For the Vindicator im using a Dust Tactics Medium walker with the barrel swapped out for something a little more stubby and demolisher like! cant wait to get that painted up!

Nice, doing similarly none spiky chaos. Your guys have a unique look, good job!

Small update:

Changed the Daemon prince a little bit, gave him a shield and repositioned the wings and of course painted him!

p.s: just incase everyone thinks that im a complete GW snob, here are some Assault marines im working on for my older Black Templar army

Hi guys.
I know its been way too long since posting any updates on this but finally here are some!
also i promise to update this more regularly as i have new ideas planned for this army
incoming Daemon allies soon (to keep with theme they will be themed as mercenary)

here are the long overdue updates

Few notes on what has been done:
1. Chaos Sorcerer with jump pack done, customer made Gun scythe using a WH fantasy VC zombie scythe attached to a puppetswar glaive) also using forgeworld jump pack
His nick name is the Death head Sorcerer, i really like the mini

2. Raptors done, all using modified puppetswar glaives with SM scout bolt pistols attached (more pics to follow on these later) pic below is of the melta gun troop. Also using WH fantasy HE sheilds.
last thing is the weapon arms are all magnetized for easy transport.

3. Full army shot will post more pics of defiler nephilim fighter (standing in for heldrake) and rhinos.
