The SCARAB game convention returns for 2013 and will be Friday, January 18th through Monday, January 21th in Columbia,
SC.
This is a four day gaming convention that features a wide range of miniature games, board games and
RPGs. More details about SCARAB can be found on

Friday the 18th will start with a giant
40K Apocalypse games, with each player bringing anywhere from 2000 to 5000 points. Super-heavies are encouraged. Players will be split into sides after check-in.
Saturday the 19th will feature a 1750 point Warhammer
40K tournament with room for 24 players. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Best Painted Army, and Best Sportsmanship. This tournament is being judged by our friends at

The convention rounds out with a final
40K all tank demolition derby on Monday the 21st. Many places call it "Tanksgiving", but we call it "Tanks for the Memories". Bring any tank or super-heavy you would like, no point restriction, and see if you wipe out your opponents faster than then can destroy you.
The Warhammer fantasy tournament be a five-round two-day tournament with three rounds on Saturday the 19th and the final two on Sunday the 20th. The point value is 2000 and there is room for 24 players. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Best Painted Army, and Best Sportsmanship.
A Flames of War battle will help us start off our convention on Friday, and Sunday will feature a 1650 three-round mid-war tournament. More details to be announced on Warhorn and the SCARAB website.
Warmachine and Hordes will also have events running all four days. The Warmachine Carolina Open will be the qualifying event for the Carolina Invitational. Other one day tournaments include Iron Arena, Journeyman, and Speedmachine. Warhorn has more details about each of these formats and when they are scheduled.
There's a lot more than just miniature gaming going on for these four days!
There are over 100 sessions of
RPGs that you can enjoy. For organized
RPG play, both Pathfinder Society and Living Forgotten Realms can be played. If you aren't into organized play, Savage Worlds, Shadowrun, Dresden Files and many other
RPGs are available for your enjoyment.
If boardgames are more your speed, there are many games scheduled all four days of the convention. Our boardgame tournament will be returning, with many great games to be awarded as prizes. The game library will be available for you to try out new games or enjoy old favorites. There are over 100 games on our shelves for your and your friends to try out.
There's even a kids track available with games of all types for our younger guests to enjoy.

The full four day badge is currently $50. If you can get three or more of your friends to join you to register as a group, then each of you will get a $5 discount. Eternal Members, don't forget that your price for all four days is only $40. A one day badge for Saturday or Sunday is also available for $20. There are
no additional fees for any of the tournaments. Your badge prices gets you into all events including every tournament over those four days.
