Just to let you all know, nearly every game on GoG is on sale, and Duke Nukem 3d is free (temporarily).
Not sure when it'll end, but I think it's soon.

What is GoG? Is it a computer program?

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Due to work, I can usually only ship any sales or trades out on Saturday morning. Please trade/purchase with this in mind.

I didn't realise you also get a bunch of free games as well, I was going to by Beneath a Steel Sky but it got included along with a few Ultima games and more.

What did I buy, I got Cannon Fodder, Syndicate, Theme Hospital and Simcity 2000, which I haven't worked out yet

Can anyone tell me about Master of Orion 3? I played 2 back in the day and had a great time. I consider it one of the best 4x games ever. Can the same be said for Master of Orion 3?

Got and installed Duke Nukem 3D and man are the controls hard to refamiliarise with; did we really use to play FPS games that way?

Yep.
Mice weren't as integral back then as they are now.
You could rebind the controls so that they use Wasd + mouse. That's the configuration I use for Blood and DN3d, and it works fine.

Same as twin analogue FPS control on joypads: Alien Resurrection on the PS1 was criticised for having it as the default control method, whereas it's hard to imagine anything else these days.

I just got 5 genuinely classic games for just over £10. Planescape Torment, Dungeon Keeper 2, Hostile Waters:Anteus Rising, Startopia and Total Annihilation.

Rather amusingly the plot for Hostile Waters makes quite a lot of reference ot the Mayan prophecies about the end of the world, only 2 days to go befire we see if it will actually turn out the same way . It is also amazingly advanced for a game its age.

Its just a shame that they couldn't fight off Andy Chambers.

Did anyone else do the scavenger hunt? It was a pretty clever ad campaign, imo.

I got Duke and Theme Hospital. Man, that hospital was always great fun. Best of the Sim-style game, if you ask me.

Yep, I have a pretty extensive collection of purchases from GOG.com. The best part is, even without the sale, they're still very good prices.
