2 years ago i began a project called 'gitzkrieg', it was a 750 (though ended up close to 4000) point army of ork speed freeks. Gitzkrieg II was another 750 project i shelfed a few months ago in order to afford my pre-heresy iron warrior project. However, i have since found a cost effective way to expand into a small force of biker boyz i've always wanted to own.

So here it is, gitzkrieg III. This project will use rogue trader/old school metal ork mini's whenever and wherever possible. So far i have gathered a great little clump of guys. Here's how i shall start, with a stripped and ready warbuggy... and a big pot of gribbly paint stripper;




Updates will be once every few weeks until i get my iron warrior 1500 point finish by janurary's end. However... LET THE ORKISHNESS BEGIN!

Skargog Grimsnaga's Waaaagh! has begun. The first few models have been re-assembled, and a few conversions are being made to fit with the sixth edition WYSIWYG rules.

Awesome! I love the nostalgic feel of Rogue Trader-era stuff. I'm trying to gather and use as much of that era's models as possible in my Eldar army. Keep up the progress.

Thanks man, i just love the level of character those armies has, it was so much better on the whole than the current mini's.


Update time, stripped off 12 shootaboyz and rebuilt a trukk using the spare driver from the nob bike set.




i just love the pole, i had to include it.

Update, for the princely sum of £15 i got 39 orks;

RIght time for a sort of update... in this case it's more of a thank you, but we'll get to that.

I dug through one of my larger bitzboxes (which was frankly terrifying because of the amount of money it represented). I did find serveral useful models, ones that no doubt have bits in other boxes...



I've also decided to put together several generations of ork bikes for scale;


Now for the thank you, the-waaagh forums member Badfang Brassaxe sent me a little gift parcel since he loved the idea behind this force and had models he was no longer using. The most impressive was this Wazdakka conversion;



it's a truely impressive model, i don't think i can bring myself to repaint it though... even thought he mek inside me is screaming to do so.

He's a good scale too, next to my normal boyz he's huge... but next to my Wazdakka from a year ago (who need's some serious TLC) he's a midget.

Right... surprisingly the postal service was working christmas eve and i got a few last minute parcels. Most of them have been stripping and boxed for a part of this project that kicks off later, however it did contain some bikes.

6 plastic bikes to be exact... i've only started with basic swaps and switches, using a host of plastic kits (though a few modern bits have crept in). Its VERY early days, so it looks rough as sin but bear with me.



In this; 2xclaw, 2x axe, Waaagh banner pole and the mad dok. Still one left to model though, and all of these need some work (GS'ing arms ect).

and a new wartrakk arrived, i've since given it the customary missile launcher.

OH MY GOD!! I love those old orks.

Now for an update, between hocking up chunks of lung i've managed to put together the frame work together for my second generation wazdakka,

The original went something like this;



I've always felt he was a bit...small. So, i decided to redevelop him, this time bigger!

Update time, and something cool for those who like free stuff.


First up; I've now assembled and stripped the first 11 man biker pack;



Started work getting the 4 wartrakks rokkit'd up;



and started adding heavy support (first of my dread mobs, plan another two)

Update time;

Having had a little while to think on it, i decided to keep the 'rough' elements of the GS. I've got a few painting techniques that i can turn the finger prints and rough folds into material texture and fabric damage. On the whole i'm fairly happy with this, i need to trim a bit of the material to get Da Kaptinz coat to sit right with the glyfs, but i'm happy with the overall lengths and folds. Same goes for the hat, once the overall model is dry and i buy a new set of craft knives i can get his hat trimmed into the right shape.

Update time!

I broke my lamp today... well one of two i use. The new (read 5 year old i forgot i owned) one uses a bulb that gives me a sun tan when i try at work at the bench. As a result it's killed off 95% of the effects i was achieving in these photo's.This is the 'Super red' scheme with a trial using my new cheat sheet pattern....

yeah... didn't work fully, but i'm going for another crack at it on tuesday after tomorrows first big game with the 122nd Iron Warriors.
