Question: Can you see a role for a small unit of Legion of the Damned in a Space Marine list?

It occurred to me that, after you dropped three melta shots at a monstrous creature, your unit could the absorb an assault from said creature by challenging with a power-fisted sergeant benefiting from the Get 'Em, Boss! rule mechanic.

Sounds like a tactics question.

To answer, I don't think you'd get much mileage out of that unit in the way you're trying to use it, but it would depend on the MC you're trying to kill. Against Daemon MCs which have invuls, you might not even wound your target with the meltas. In any case you'd be unable to ID the MC with a Str 8 powerfist and that 1 wound Space Marine sergeant would get pulped pretty quick by any MC well before he got to swing with that initiative 1 powerfist.
