Subject: [[HD Video]] I hate painting RED! by Lester Bursley
I saw a post on Facebook by Les earlier today, I think he will also be posting up a similar tutorial with Yellow. I am especially interested in the yellow, because I am going to be starting a Lamenters army here soon. One thing that has me confused however, is where to find this minitaire airbrush paint. if anyone can point me in the right direction, that would be great, but all my searches end up at a sold out Amazon.com page, or the Badger site...which has zero information on where to buy this stuff.

The paint line is super new so I don't think it has too many distributors yet. Once I get word I'll post here on where to buy. I know it's annoying but we had to get a head start on showing the paint off.

I am always mixed on techniques like this. The results can be great for getting a base coat done super fast that look great. The only problem with that though is if you have to go back and fix any thing while you are doing the detailing, you will almost never be able to match it back to the original color.
I play...

Looks great, nice tutorial. Would this not work by simply using Vallejo bloody red over the Black/Grey/White basecoated you used?

It still works, the white significantly increases the luminance of red paint, which is never truly opaque. It is a good trick I find to use a zenithal priming technique, though I usually skip the grey and then for for your reds or other opacity challenged colors like yellow and certain greens.
Not exactly how I would do it but a sound method none the less, pretty evident the results speak for themselves.
I noticed someone comment on youtube that 'it's great... if you have an airbrush'. The lesson here is... GET AN AIRBRUSH! lol
Brilliant.
Why didn't I ever think of using a candy color instead of trying to just make the damn thing opaque? Everything is auto-shaded and ready to rock n' roll.
Thanks for this.
Why is it that only those who have never fought in a battle are so eager to be in one?
