I think I'd drop the Genestealer unit in favor of increasing the size of your Venomthrope and Zoanthrope units, maybe add a 5th Warrior to that unit as well. I haven't really had much luck with Genestealers personally (this edition or last - Hormagaunts have always worked better for me) and between your two units of Hormagaunts, the Warriors, Swarmy, and the Trygon you should have more than sufficent counter-assault punch.

I'm not sure if the Gargoyles really need Toxin Sacs and Adrenal Glands, since the Swarmlord can give them Furious Charge if nessessary for glancing vehicles and you already have several dedicated assault units with Toxin Sacs for hunting high toughness threats. They might serve you better starting on the table and acting as the first wave (since unlike Hormagaunts they can overwatch and they do most of their damage on the charge).

Hmmm, I'm quite reluctant to drop the Genestealers, since they're so cool, but, since I have them I guess I can test them out and see how they perform and I'll consider what you've suggested as replacements if they don't work out. As I've mentioned, I really do find Dual Biomorph Gargoyles to work really well, since the Biomorphs are so cheap on them.

A second Tervigon is definitely a no-go. I'd like to be a bit different and really don't want to have to spend the money on all the extra gaunts. The Tervigon's only there to provide some more expendable cover for a turn or two. Once I hit the lines I have, really, no further need for it, except any nice Psychic Powers I guess...

If you really just want mobile cover line hitting unit, the Tyrannofex with flesh borer hives (Linebreaker build) is great for that, plus it has the fire power to make a real dent.

Looks nice overall. The venomthropes need to be fleshed out

Ymargls are a nice choice, but they're a lot more expensive and, as I've explained, I'm pretty tight on points here. I also don't like their inability to take Toxin Sacs or a Broodlord, the latter being more useful than ever with the addition of Book Powers

Honestly, that won't do much. The Tyrannofex is for heavy firepower support. If you want to smash something apart in CC, then the Tyrannofex is not the beastie for the job.

Yeah, if I do end up dropping something and having more points to spend, that's probably what I'll be doing.

True, but the impression I got was that you did not care about the CC as much as the moving cover and getting units down the board. I think the Tyrannofex is just a better choice for this role as it is better at engaging on the way in (20 shots,Large blast,Template each turn), better armor, and bulkier profile.

Well, the idea is to safely escort the Swarmlord, Warriors and, I guess Trygon to the front lines, where they can wreck stuff. A normal termagant wall is ok, but I prefer hormagaunts that can move a little faster and actually do some damage. However, you can't deny the value of expendable troops, especially when they're effectively free, so that's the purpose of the Tervigon (as well as Psychic support)

Got it. I find the termigants do better delivering damage on the way, as hormagaunts have to get there first but are one of the fasts non-beast foot troops around.

I like your changes to the list. I think you'll do great. Are you considering this a tournament army? I would, those genestealers have great flexibility, dont let people tell you differently, they did suffer some nerfs from the FAQ on no assaulting from reserve and overwatch, but send them after units that they can take out, don't think they can do more than what they can.

Don't send them after units that can rapid fire or heavy bolter heavy squads or flamers. Avoid them, you'll be fine.

Thanks for the responses guys, and yes, I'll try to give some feedback, but it might be a while before I can get it all together. Watch my sig!

The Warriors in a spore's a nice idea, but, since they can't charge on the turn they arrive, they might not get into combat that quickly. Plus, I think I'll have too much in reserve in that case. The rules now stop you taking too much in reserve.

you can go over the 50% limit with the spores. Unit in spores don't count for the 50% limit either.
You have to be in reserve if you buy a spore it is not a option. it gets you around the limit you are talking about

It is either 1 turn till they can assault or you have to walk them down the board looking at 2 or 3 turns to assault. Since you are still packing the default devourer, they can drop 12 shots in to the nearest squad will waiting to charge. That and the pod has some decent builtin 6" weapons, so if you drop it near the rear of a rhino it can make a mess of it.

Hmmm, that's interesting. Very interesting. I'll bear that in mind, thanks for the heads up.

You say turn 2 or 3 on foot, hm? Well, you're right. Now, in a Spore. Well, they don't come on Turn 1. They could come on Turn 2. But they can't assault, so we're looking at a turn 3 Assault anyway. Yes, they can shoot as they land, but by turn 2 they're probably in range if they were on foot anyway. Depending on my opponent's army, I may get to shoot first turn too. So I'm looking at paying 40 points for risking my Warriors to be delayed by a turn, pretty much. I have enough DSers anyway

True you do have lots of DS, the point was that instead of 2-3 turns of being shot at they only have to suffer one turn of being shot at.

ok, sorry to tell you, but this list is trash in a competitive since. first of all your tervigons need to cost 190 and have all 3 powers. the venomethrope are really bad. trygon doesn't need to be a prime anymore. lictors? a 410 point swarmlord unit? you should just be taking a regular hive tyrant and putting old adversary on it. genestalers are trash now and a waste of points.

this is fine for a casual fun army but it is not competitive in the slightest. prepare yourself for an uphill battle.
