Hi all.

The Realm is hosting a Warhammer 40k RT on January 5th.

Details:
1750 points, current codices.
Saturday Jan 5th. 10am. games start at 10:30. SHOW UP EARLY!
$10 buy in or $20 in product
Prizes for First, Second, Third overall, and Sportsmanship.
Army comp is in! Judged by your fellow competitors
3 Rounds, 2 hour 15 minute time limit per round.
Lunch break between first and second round
Book missions will be chosen the morning of the tournament
Mysterious Objectives and Terrain are being used

House rules:
Bring your rulebook and any other gaming accessories you plan to use (dice, tape measure, etc). Have your army list written out so that your opponent or the TO can look at it.
No Forge World at this time, maybe future tournaments
Armies do NOT have to be painted, but Must be WYSIWYG. No proxies (unless ok by the TO) no half models, no empty bases.
Characters within squads have to be easily distinguishable (sergeants, wolf guards, crypteks from the royal court, etc) from the rest of the squad. Rule of thumb is, you shouldn't have to explain what a model is to your opponent.
Counts-as models/armies have to be approved by the T.O. "The rule of cool" applies. (We love GOOD conversions)
Fortifications are allowed BUT need to be approved by the T.O. (me). PM or talk to me at The Realm

Please post to reserve your spot so we can get a head count beforehand.

Thanks! And Happy New Year.

I don't have anything official from GW just yet, but I think the DA are supposed to release the following week on the 12th.

Which kinda sucks, I think I'd move a lot more product if they released the day of the tourney.

I have a feeling that Jan 5th is official announcement of the Dark Angel codex and release of the models will be the week afterwards.

The norm is that a new codex has to be out for 30 days before being allowed in tournaments. if for some reason we're blessed with a new book the morning of tourney, we prolly shouldn't use it to keep the games running quickly (not spending half the game looking new rules/stats up)

I think the 5th was the original date for release, as the first Saturday of the month is usually the big release day. But the White Dwarf and the Dark Angels got kicked back a week for some reason. Might have been the Hurricane.

I shall be coming to play tomorrow, just had work move on me. Ill be bringing my orks. I normally run with a skyshield platform, is that ok for this tournament? Im well versed in the rules for it after shifting through a good deal of rule battles over its usage. Everything is fully painted and ready to roll!

All my work is done using StyleX, Professional Model Tools

Thanks to everyone that made it out today!

Unfortunately one of our players is missing his Chaos Space Marines Codex and Small rulebook. If anyone accidentally picked them up, please let us know so we can get them back to him.

Thanks again!
