If I give a Plague Champion a power sword in place of his bolt pistol, will his attacks be Ap3 AND 4+ poisoned due to his plague knife or will he have to chose whether to have one or the other? Same effect with other power weapons?

You must choose which weapon to use.

Well, it depends on the specific wording.

For example, a Grey Knights Dreadknight wielding a Nemesis Greatsword and Nemesis Doomfist gets the benefits of both.

"Did you ever notice how in the Bible, when ever God needed to punish someone, or make an example, or whenever God needed a killing, he sent an angel? Did you ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? A whole existence spent praising your God, but always with one wing dipped in blood. Would you ever really want to see an angel?"

You would need to choose which your going to use, though you still get the +1 attack for 2 CCW. There isnt any wording that states he benifits from both.

Yeah I was thinking about the DK when I thought of this, since it gets the benefits of both weapons. Think it needs to be FAQed.

The Plague Knife is what has the poisoned attacks. So you would have to pick between the Plague Knife and the Power Sword.

I don't have the codex so I can't say, but if the wording is "a model with a plague knife has the poisoned (4+) rule" then he gets the benefit of both, same as the Dreadknight.

Possably, but I don't think that is the wording.

Just checked the codex and the poisoned aspect is a part of the plague knife itself, so i think it's only from attacks with that weapon, but i'll admit its a bit ambiguous.

If it does a power-fist and plague knife is a scary combo.

plague knife poisoned effect is presented as the type of the weapon itself. its not ambiguous at all. at no stage does it imply that the model itself gains the 4+ to wound rule

as much as i would love this pairing to work, it would then confer the plague marines' bolters the same 4+ to wound anything which would be ridiculously overpowered.

I was reading the Rulebook and it says on pg 51 under the more than one weapon rule that " If a model has more than one melee weapon, he must choose which one to attack with when he comes to strike blows-he cannot mix and match the abilities of several different Melee weapons". So i would say no and am confused on how the dreadknight gets away with it haha

IIRC the Nemesis Greatsword is not a CCW, it just let you reroll misses.

Playing mostly Necromunda and Battletech, Malifaux is awesome too!

It is a CCW, it's worded in a way that you don't have to wield it to get the bonus, though.

Yeah, its definitly a NFW. But as above the bonus is always on. Its like if you had a weapon that gave you FnP for some reason, even if you had the weapon sheathed you would gain the Bonus.

And given that GW didn't FAQ it otherwise with the advent of the 6th Ed FAQs, I'm inclined to think that it was intentional.
