Is it possible to boost the blast damage against a unit that is indirectly hit? If so, would one have to individually boost the blast damage for each individual model hit? I know this is a pretty basic question, but it hasn't really come up in any of my games up to this point in time (I haven't used a lot of AOE effects, or if I have I haven't had a reason to want to boost blast damage). I picked up a Durgen Madhammer recently and I plan to be employing a lot more AOE effects, so this is something I'd like to find out more about.

Yes you can boost Blast damage unless the specific situation says no. Assuming you have enough Focus/Fury to do it of course.

Normally you can, if able, boost damage on blast damage rolls against models under a template (remember that in WM/H, unit/model are distinct terms). However, also unless otherwise stated, EVERY roll is boosted one-at-a-time. This means in the case of blast damage that each damage roll per guy under a tempalte is indeed needed to be boosted separately.

If you are getting into Madhammer it should be noted that the light warjacks have Powerful Shot. These boost all rolls for a single attack, which all the blast damage is part of. So those little buggers are rather imazing with him.

And stuff.

I hadn't realized that particular little detail about the light warjacks. That just made my day.

Thank you both for your assistance.

With Durgen remember is Feat is also "an addl attack and damage dice." When there is an "addl dice" it is not a boosted dice. So you can boost the blast damage along with the addl dice, for a total of 4d6.

Tactic tip:
Blasters with cast on them expolsivo + Feat turn

Right result, wrong route there. The key words are 'additional dice'. you can have as many additional dice as you can add, but only one boosted dice to your roll.

I believe Thor's Tune Up will also have the same effect ( boosting all damages under the template) though only with rhulic warjack : ie. Avalancher, and maybe any rhulic warjack guns with Explosivo.

While the feat will affect a shot with explosivo, the Blaster special rule will not, as effects from the weapon/model are not applied to the blast damage hits. It will have 4d6 to hit, however, and boosted damage against a directly hit target.
