Hey everyone! Pretty happy with my list so far, but did experience how good markerlights can be... I ran them on a stealth squad, but they were not points efficient. Thinking about getting pathfinders, I have all the models minus the pathfinders. How does this list look?

Commander in stealth team
HWMT, Bond knife, HWDC w/ 2 gun drones, TA, CIB, BC
3 stealth suits with 2 gun drones each

2 Crisis suits
TLMP, Flamer, 1 team lead w/ HWBSF, HWDC w/ 2 shield drones

8 Fire warriors

8 Fire warriors

6 pathfinders w/ a Devilfish (DPod)

Railhead w/ BSF, DPod, MT, Sensors, TL, BC

Railhead w/ BSF, DPod, MT, Sensors, TL, BC

2 Broadsides w/ ASS, 1 team lead w/ HWBSF, HWDC w/ 2 shield drones, HWTL

I feel I have significant anti-tank and with the stealth team and the railheads, a good amount of anti-horde. I think the pathfinders will earn their points by stripping cover saves and reducing blast scatter. What do you think?

I dont like pathfinders.

Alot of points for 6 T3 models with a 4+ save.

I prefer the Tetra. You can take 2 for less points and they both have a heavy 4 markerlight. ALso they have a twin linked plasma rifle. As a fast skimmer they can shoot both and they get a 5+ jink.

Only 50 points a model. I think they are quite good.

You're totally right. I would love to go with tetras. I am extremely hesitant to drop cash on the models with rumor of a new codex coming out soon, though. I tend to avoid forgeworld as there are a number of bratty purist players in the area as well.

Markerlights are very solid. Patherfinders are the best, way to run them if you are not using forgeworld.

Lol that's pretty obvious haha j/k

He's right if no fw then they are ok.

In my area forge world is totally accepted in tournament play also.

You ought to switch out one of the 'El's Gun Drones for an SD. With 2 GDs, the unit's majority Toughness is 3. With a Shield Drone, now he'd be shot at for T4. And, *don't* buddy him with Stealths for the same reason.

And why a BK? Once by himself, he won't need it to rally, and with the stealth team (again, a bad idea) he won't need it until ... (8 models, can still rally at 25%, oh, that'd be ) ... until he is by himself again.

So, toss the BK.

BSFs are not needed on Deathrains. MPs have the range and AP4. Turn 1, when NightFighting usually happens, opponents will have their tanks in Cover anyway.

Didja not type out the Fusion Blaster? And, really, *one* FB on a 90+ point unit for anti-tank is too pricey. Far better to buy one XV8 with a TL-FB.

As for the overall Pathfinder Q: Yes, once at 1500 points, Pathfidners are do-able.

The commander in the stealth team is there to provide the extra shots to the team, along with possible "rends" from the CIB. I've found the best terminator cracking is done by a ton of shots, which this team is geared out to do. Even though it's majority T3, you'd be surprised how tough this is to crack with stealth/shrouded. To kit the commander out in any other fashion would require me to drop a railhead or the pathfinders, which I really didn't want to do.

So, toss the BK.

If the tanks ARE in cover (the tables I play generally allow enough line of sight to always get a shot off), then stealth/shrouded is really going to hurt. The BSF has saved my butt a number of times, and at 3 points, it's a no-brainer for me

I was stating the stealth team was anti-horde, all my heavy support options to the anti-tank for me

Thanks for the input, you've given me some things to think about!

Unless you know you are facing Imotek necrons. Then the BSF on Deathrain is handy. (I really hate imotek)

Err. Quantum Shielding gives MPs only Glance potential on the vehicles that no one fields (in my local meta) anyway.

And though the BSF is royally cheap in points, I feel that players ought to spend every last point making their army as dakka (tau - shooty) as possible.
