Love your IG conversions, the piper especially is inspired. Will make a beautiful and unique army when painted.

You're going to love my new conversions then, I'm about to post them up in my new painting and modeling blog. If you ever wanted those bagpipes for yourself, Victoria Lamb makes the conversion kit for like $3. Best conversion bit I've ever bought.

I have a longish list, here.

1.) Try not to buy so much new stuff when I have so much unpainted!

Finish this stuff:

Spoiler:

2x Chaos Rhinos ( just need doors painted, an details
1x SM Assault Squad (5 models)

3x Nob Bikers + 1x Painboy Biker
Traitor Guard Valkyrie (almost done, FFS!)
Ork Trukk
Ork Stompa

Primed & Unpainted
Necron Barge
9 or so Necron Special characters
Necron Tomb Stalker
30ish Traitor guardsmen & weapon arms
5x Ork Kommandos

Actually finishing commissions on time is great for the client. Both commissions i have asked for went over time, one by several months. The fact you deliver on time is great even if you need the deadline as a catalyst to up your tempo.

My resolution: To sit down every night and do something progressive. No matter how slight or seemingly insignificant.

My plan: To try and paint one model at a time or smaller batches using easier/smarter techniques and not worrying about having my army be 'Eavy Metal standard.

I already made my hobby resolution before the new year: Start all brewing-related activities in the afternoon, at the latest, so I stop ending up capping bottles at 3am (that's twice, now, damn it!). As far as this hobby is concerned, though...

I don't have any external deadlines for my projects and I've found that self-imposed ones don't do much to motivate me. Since my real hobby shortcoming is lethargy (not to say that I'm great, of course, just that I'm really lazy ) I'm torn - I usually clean and assemble models more readily than I paint them, so breaking ground on my fantasy armies would likely give me a solid bump in productivity. However, that would also leave me with an even bigger sea of bare plastic to glare at me from the display cabinet, jeering "You'll never paint all of us, you useless lump!"

As tempted as I am to start something completely new (FoW is looking mighty alluring, at the moment, and the new Bones minis from Reaper would give me a cheap pool of decent models for one-offs, when the mood strikes), both my wallet and my withering sense of hobby-dignity are telling me I need to work on what I already have. That means finishing the current in-progress lot:
-Teddy (Malifaux) display model (clock is actually ticking on this one, as it's a birthday gift - currently about 85% done)
-Dwarf King's Hold dwarves (50% painted)
-Malcador scratchbuild (40% built - not too worried about paint, for now)

Before starting:
-Dwarf King's Hold skeletons (4x the number of dwarves...)
-mounting DKH tiles to MDF (lovely printing, but a bit thin and light - shifting during play is more of an issue than warping)
-Infinity starter boxes (one model down, 11 to go - if I don't repaint the first, which I'm less happy with each time I look at it)
-Blitzhund (Incursion), perhaps on a larger display base
-Cordelia (Anima Tactics), likely in a mini-diorama

On top of all of that, I've got tons of Orks still awaiting paint, along with an almost completely unpainted SM army - both of which have a few models still on the sprue. Also started a Warhound titan scratchbuild a while back (30% done, actually, but this one is a loooong term project that sits idle for months at a time, so lumping it in with the rest seems more than a little unrealistic). Then there's all the terrain... Ignoring those, for now, if I somehow manage to finish the whole list, I'll be downright ecstatic. Honestly, though, I'll be reasonably satisfied if I can at least make it through a solid chunk. More than likely, some of the smaller, more self-contained projects will be pushed back in order to finish off half-painted Ork units and make room for the non-hobby hobby projects that crop up from time to time, as inspiration or necessity demand, and I'm fine with that.

TLDR: DO MOAR MODELZ.

I agree with the 'paint a little each day' method, you'll do small amounts but they quickly add up and before you know it, you'll set aside one big painting session to finish them off and blam! new unit completed!

Learn when models are FINISHED and put them aside.

Fill in the gaps in my Relictors army - thinking Vindicator, a squad of assault termis, something that works as a 'counts as' assault bike, to go with my horsey bikers.

Play more games.

Build a gaming board.

That should see me through the year, although I've toyed with the idea of adding a Space Wolf allied contingent to my Marines. Might look into that a bit.

I'm starting with the elites, 20 Terminators, 2 Landraiders (have to paint strip one, an ebay special), 5 Dreads and one Contemptor Dread. Plenty to finish and then put in storage for the baby-times.

Good topic.

1. This year I plan to finish my Deathwing Army and get it up to about 50 bodies of the TDA.
2. My Dark Angels green army has is almost totally painted. I want to finish up the vehicles that go with it. Maybe even get it up to company size.
3. Redo my Eldar army up to playable sizes. I'm mainly using the vehicles as airbrush practice, but I want to start on the troops and just get everything looking good.

Those are the GW related goals. I plan to play a lot of games this year. I got into several kickstarters in the fall. I want to paint some of the fun stuff I'm getting out of those. I also have a bunch of Confrontation metals that I want to work on. Honestly I could finish a miniature a day and be busy all year!!!

THE FUN HAS BEEN DOUBLED!!!

Build what I have before buying anything else!

That includes Flying Hive Tyrant, Tervigon, Hormagants, Genestealers, Necron HQs, Helldrake, 20 Chaos Cultists, box of Kroot, probably about a Battleforce worth or Orks, Ork Nobz, Ork Battlewagon, Forgeworld Ork Warboss on Warbike, Rhino to loot into an Ork Junka, Citadel wood and an Imperial Sector.

Yes, I really don't need to buy any more at the moment, especially with other games coming out such as the Star Wars RPG, Heroclix Star Trek Tactics, Star Trek Fleet Captains Romulan Expansion, other Heroclix and no doubt other RPGs and Board Games that I'll end up buying.

So what I should do is... STOP BUYING!

Apologies for talking positively about games I enjoy.
