Hello

I am quite new to forums and i hope i have done this in the right place, a question ive got to ask is that i have got grey knights, imperial guard and space wolves. i hope to be playing in many apocalyptic battles over 2000p and i was wondering if i could have units from all 3 armys put into this one.

i was thinking of including these specific units all into one;

imperial guard- manticore
heavy weapons squad
sentinal

grey knights- grey knight paladins
lord kaldor draigo

space wolves- logan grimmar
grey hunters
scouts
drop pods

overall i have- 2 HQ 2 elietes 4 troops 1 fast 1 heavy 1 transport

thank you

As far i am aware you can only choose one.
unless you are playing CO-OP with others.

Well, you can choose one ally detachment per FOC. For battles at the 2000 pt level or higher, you can take a 2nd FOC and so two ally detachments.

I don't know how your opponent would enjoy fighting the strongest units from three different codexes but just me.

I quite like that the Grey Knight Paladins come before Draigo in ranking of importance which I can judge since under Space Wolves Grimnar came first.

Yes, but both allies must be from the same codex.

Well.....ya in theory you could if you had explicit permission from your opponent (which, from what your taking, I would think he wouldn't like you too much)..

Otherwise, no. At most, 2 allied detachments thanks to the Double FOC rule on 2000+ games. But, they both need to be from the same codex so...

Oh, and even if you could bring the allies, the IG list isn't even legal since you can't take Heavy Weapon Squads by themselves.

Oh, and SoloFalcon brought up a good point. Allies in 6th or Allies in Apocalypse? They run different from each other. I don't know too much about Apoc stuff however...

Lets be honest, most APOC stuff tends to be bring XXXXX pts of YYYY I've yet to see list building for APOC other than to tally points.

it'll have to be a high points cost since grimnar is so pricey

Well, in the BRB they said Apocalypse was created just so people can literally use everything they own regardless of FOC. I mean, some things can't even find a proper spot in the FOC.

You can have 1 Allies section per FOC, so at 2k+ (and with a 2nd FOC), you conceivably could have 2 Allied forces.

I just read all of page 110... it says PRIMARY detachment must come from the same codex, not allied. So yes. 2000+ pt games you can have 2 different allies

Necro.
And you need to keep reading.
p110 wrote:As stated earlier, taking an extra primary detachment allows you to take an additional allied detachment (which must be from the same codex as your other allied detachment).
