Excellent piece by Robi Baker. Makes a nice Roman Cohort in 20 men to a figure scale. I'd like t osell a few of them, but I am happy enough to just discuss them.

That really is rather cool, especially for siege games.

It also saves a lot of effort of painting the individual soldiers if you want to get some units finished quickly.

Very much so. I went a little crazy on these, and painted up 48 tortoises, which now make up about 95% of my Roman armies. and far outnumber all of my other ancient forces. It's a good thing the Romans enjoyed their civil wars so much, or I'd have nobody to fight them!
