Facing a 2500 point Deathwing Army tomorrow.

I play somewhat fluffy Salamanders, but my question is, what is the most cost effective way to bring AP2 weaponry? Plasma? Lascannons? -- and best way to get these (Devs, Tacs etc...)

OR

Should I stick with spamming Melta? -- I'm Running Vulkan and bringing drop pods

I have a single Stormtalon I could maybe throw in as well (but I really wouldn't want to, to simply bring some Lascannons).

One thing I was thinking about was running MSU's in the form of Tac squads and throwing a Plasma Cannon or Lascannon in each one.

Thoughts?

Sternguard with Combi-Plasma/Melta could prove to be pretty effective, as with Devs with Plasma Cannons as the Blasts would be particularly useful against bunched up Deep-Strikers. Failing that, you could try just to drown them under small arms fire and hope they fail enough saves, if so then you can consider Devs with Heavy Bolters, LRCs or Autodreads.

Went with both ha.

Turns out more people are playing than I thought, everyone decided that it's time to dust off the minis.......(was only going to be me and the Deathwing player at first)

So, with that, I'm bringing a rough semi fluff list of:

Vulkan He'Stan

5 TH/SS Termies in LRR
5 TH/SS Termis in LRC

10 Sternguard w/5x Melta, 5x Flamer in a drop pod

2x Tac Squads w/plenty o' Melta/Flamer to go around in Drop Pods

10 Scouts w/Telion in an ADL (there will be a couple potential Baleflamers around)

10 Devs w/4x Plasma Cannon

I have a potential now to face Eldar, Orks, Chaos Space Marines, Space Wolves, Deathwing and White Scars

Hoping this can handle whoever I play (most I'm concerned with is Deathwing) -- also concerned that my 2 LR's w/Termies won't do very well, but meh, it's how I like to roll
