I can't seem to find the rulings on the difference between a Combi-Bolter and per say, a Combi-Melta/Flamer/Plasma

Are the named variants, simply to note which one is being used on which model (To note which model is using a Combi-Plasma on the force organization chart for instance)

Or does the named variant of the Combi, allow the weapon to be fired more than once? Had a friend as me that in a game recently, and honestly I didn't know, we have always played with the understanding that Combi-Anythings were simply 1 shot 1 use then you're stuck with a Bolter afterwards..

IIRC the combi bolter is a twin linked bolter.

While the Combi-Variant is a 1shot special attached to a standard bolter.

They have their own section in the ranged weapon section of the BRB. Page 56.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."

"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."
