Hey just a general question about items no longer on the forge world site.

Do items come back?

For example i am looking to buy a dreadclaw chaos drop pod but they seemed to have disappeared two months back whats the likelyhood of them coming back?

Out of stock items may come back (sometimes it's just a temporary delay in getting new stock, sometimes it's the last of a discontinued item selling out).

Items that have been removed entirely are probably not coming back.


IIRC the Dreadclaw had mold problems and they're working on a new version.

My guess is that they are simply redoing the model.

Some people have suggested that it means GW itself is going to release it in plastic; however considering the CSM codex doesn't have a drop pod or anything similar I highly doubt that.

The only other possibility I can come up with is that they might just do a conversion part for the regular drop pad. Kind of like how FW has conversions for rhinos and such. However, considering that the conversion above is such a simple thing I'm not sure I'd ever buy the FW one.

FW does have to make new molds from time to time because Resin molds don't last as long.

Given the popularity of the Dreadclaw I highly doubt it is leaving. That would be like discontinuing Warhounds.

From what I've noticed stuff that is temporary out of stock tends to disappear and reappear. A while ago all the Black Templar shoulderpads and stormshields disappeared, now they're back.
Same for the Macharius Vulcan that was gone for 3-4 months.

If you're really worried you can just send them a mail, or give them a ring..

Of note, some things DO get removed from Forge World, however. Before the new Voss-pattern Lightning Strike, they had a sleeker, more rounded Navy Lightning that you can still see designs and drawings of in older pieces of art. Forge World has clearly stated on their Facebook page for this one that they will not be producing anymore of the old Lightnings as the new ones fit the style and theme of the 40k gothic grimdark more or somesuch.

Also most terrain is gone for good, after being listed as out of stock for more than a year.

I'm still wodnering what happaned to that guy they got on board to get the old terrain back into production. Seems he's busy just working on RoBB and those space ship tiles now.

That was the whole idea, to make a new line of terrain using the hollow-cast method. The old stuff is never coming back, and I don't think they ever said anything about bringing back literal copies of the old stuff (why hire someone new for that).

Of course this sucks, since the old stuff is awesome and it would be nice to be able to buy it again instead of hoping for something to come up on ebay occasionally.

The spaced extra Armour for rhinos got dropped. However the new pred/ rhino extra Armour is cool stuff. I guess there is no reason not to make my own spaced armor......

Large Resin boards needing exact measures to fit the other ROB boards: Will FW quality control succeed this time? Actually, most are much smaller.

I've seen a lot of their newer terrain pieces when my FLGS ordered them in, and they quality seems a lot better than in the past.
