Diamond and Pearl were great (I don't feel that Platinum added anything though).
I really love Hoenn, but Magma and Aqua seemed really, really dumb.
Black and White had a very good storyline, though most of the Pokemon were really lame. Also, I feel that Black 2 and White 2 could've just been lumped into Black and White as a post-Elite 4 story.
I think HG/SS were the best of them so far; the pokemon following you, the menu constantly on the touch screen, pokewalker, togglable running, the itemfinder, etc. All features missing from the games after them. But, I'm looking forward to the new battle system and Fenekin.
It's been seen to use a wide variety of moves, including electrical and fire moves as well as Swift and what looked like Final Gambit.
Pokémon uploaded a video to Youtube today.
Ah cool, looked a bit like a flying type but I suppose we have to wait for confirmation. Probably shiny stone if it uses a stone, which I kind of doubt.
Also found the vid for the thread, not much to it.
I've always maintained that, from a gameplay standpoint, take the gameplay of 4th gen (Diamond/Pearl/Platinum/Heartgold/Soulsilver), with the balance of 3rd gen (Ruby/Saphire/Emerald).
As far as the main quest/region is concerned, I'm entirely ambivalent, since the games are all the same for that anyway.
Also, Mewthree looks awful. It's like someone stuck Mewtwo's ass onto Mew's head, and he doesn't look too happy about it.

I thought Mewthree was just like one of those joke/fake pokemon the internet circulate
Heartgold/Soulsilver were also generally solid, but I've found Black/White to have the best pokemon elements and gameplay, if that generations pokemon were not so terrible, It would have probably been the best pokemon game.

I keep harping on the subject, but as much as I love D/P/Pl for perfecting the mechanics, I feel that the metagame was growing too offensively in a bad way ever since that generation. 3rd generation was like a perfect mix of offense and defense.
That is a foul monstrosity and should be burned in the pits of the Pokémon equivalent of hell.

From a metagame standing I would actually agree with you here, I just have a personal preference of B/W compared to D/P/Pl as that generation was one of the ones I played less of. (I practically skipped Ruby/Sapphire to be honest. )
The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

Ruby/Sapphire is Gen 3, D/P/Pl is Gen 4
I played Gen 4 the most, probably because I own all of them, except HeartGold.
I barely played any of Gen 3/4 which probably shows
I played more of Gen 4, Soul Silver and Heart Gold if they are 4th gens would be the ones I played the most besides Gen 1 and 2 which dominated my childhood and mortal soul.
For those who don't know, the next film will feature five Genesect, the leader of whom is shiny.

My Gamer's Intuition says it's going to be delayed slightly. Don't know why, though.

Really?
I don't remember the Pokemon games having anything of the sort (aside from Nidoking and Nidoqueen, and the fact that only female Combees can evolve into Vespiquen).

Well every generation has had at least one thing about gender so far.
Gen 1 was the Nidos, Gen 2 was the player and the introduction of the breeding system, Gen 3 was Latios/Latias I think, Gen 4 was the Combee or whatever and Gen 5 has those creepy jellyfish ghosts.

I don't recall the player gender having any in-game effect though...
Also, I'll be honest, I really like Mewthree.

There was some post-game in B2/W2 where the player was flirted with by a character depending on their gender. I guess Game Freak did'nt give LGBT people much of a look-in.

Bulbanews wrote:While the Pokémon franchise has been a phenomenal success worldwide since its debut in 1996, with the vast majority of the world being able to enjoy the games, trading card game and anime, one area that has seen a clear divide has been merchandise. In Pokémon's homeland of Japan, there are seven dedicated Pokémon Centre stores full of everything from figures, to plush toys to eating utensils, while America used to have a Pokémon Center that is now the Nintendo World store.
Today, The Pokémon Company International's marketing director Anthony Cornish told MCV that the next 12 months will be the biggest in the franchise's history, with new games, a new TV series, a new movie and new toys - all of which leading into the highly anticipated worldwide launch of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y on the Nintendo 3DS this October. The company has also stated that is has "cleared the decks" in regards to licensing and have brought in Tomy International, with the huge promise of ensuring that everyone in the world gets the same toys as the ones in Japan.
It certainly is a bold promise, but we will have to see how 2013 shapes up for Pokémon!
That is absolutely fantastic.
