Hi guys an gals,

Has anyone had any good exsperences of useing Ork Lootas ? Iv played them in my last two frendly games and while there ability to fire lots of stengh 7 shots is good the fackt that they are Orks and cant hit the back side of a barn door has made them utterly useless in both games.

What do you people think ?.

How many are you bringing? Because once you hit 15+ they'll destroy pretty much anything AV13 Or less. The key, like many things with orks, is to bring a lot of them.

I ran 11 of them last night and all they did was kill one SM biker, iam considering swapping them out for another unit of boys in a truck as i tend to get more bang for my buck from them.

What?! Thats ridiculous. With 11 lootas, thats anywhere from 11-33 shots a turn. You should average several hits against whatever you shoot at. 5's and 6's to hit isnt that bad when youre rolling an average of 20+ dice. And with strength 7 they should destroy most vehicles and anything up to T7! You must have had some awful rolls and your opponent must make all his saves for them to kill just one biker.

My friend ran 10 in our last game and killed 2 bikes, a landspeeder and many marines.

Well, marine infantrya isn't the best thing to shoot with them of course, AP4 is no good against them. Use Lootas against vehicles and even flyers rather than 2+ or 3+ infantry.

Bring the number of them that makes them no longer fearless. 10 I think? Put them behind an aegis defense line and go to ground everytime someone shoots them for that sweet sweet 2+. Hitting on 6's isn't that much worse then 5's and 6's.

That's still only half the hits you'd get otherwise. Now, only hitting on 6s isn't the end of the world with them, but losing a few models is better than losing half your hits.

Lootas suck ad that's the reason why nobody plays them...

Nah, I'm kidding. Lootas are one of the most efficient units in da orkses Codex. They are your best tool to wreck transports (so your boyz can smash their passengers to death) and to shoot down flyers.
Well, sometimes (or often if you're unlucky) you get that "only 1 shot per loota" at the moment you would REALLY need to get your whole firepower and wreck that damn vehicle coming right toward you...

Really? Huh, you must have had some bad luck, then.

I've only played against orks a few times. Once or twice, someone brought a nice big mob of lootas, and just laid into me as I tried to charge forward (Traitor Marines in metal bawkzes rush, my usual tactic). He popped my rhinos before they got close enough for me to charge so I had to try and find cover, as he ran his boyz forward and beat my poor defenseless marines to death with sticks and rocks.

Well the game only lasted four turns anyway but i rolled my D3 each turn for my shots and got nothing higher than a two. When it came to shooting my dice rolls with that unit were horendos.
I have a Speed Freaks army so in the most its a CC army apart from my flyers and lootas, il give them another whirl next time i play tommor and see how they fair hopefully 3rd time lucky.

The last few time I ran a large loota squad, they did fine the first turn, but then my opponent focused on them until they lost enough to check moral and were at 6-7 dudes. Then promptly ran off the table.

I think the next time I run them, I'll put 3 squads of 6 or 7 and try that.

As others have said they are a solid thing to bring. Try them out a few more times.

My fav option is 15 in a battlewagon with all big shootas and lobba. Change 3 out for Meks and you can also repair the wagon if it gets hurt.

12 lootas. 3 Meks with big shootas and 4 big shootas is a ton of dakka.

I often hear they're the best Ork units and most competitive Ork armies I've seen always have Lootas by the boatload. So I'd assume yes.
