Subject: Vermanus Cybus? Dead or Alive?

Vermanus Cybus was the sole survivor of the Iron Hands Morlock Terminator team during the Drop Site Massacre, for his story (from Wikia: http://warhammer40k.wikia.com/wiki/Morlock)
Vermanus Cybus was the senior surviving Morlock veteran of the Drop Site Massacre on Istvaan V. Gathering with the remnants of the Iron Hands Legion that had fought their way out of the killing grounds of the Urgall Depression on Istvaan V, he joined the ad hoc group of survivors of that battle aboard the Iron Hands Strike Cruiser Sisypheum as it fled the Istvaan System. Cybus possessed multiple chimeric bio-modifications and had been viewed as nearly pathological in his reverence for the machine and his loathing for flesh. In truth, Cybus was a warrior not even his Battle-Brothers could be around for any length of time, for adherence to the doctrines of augmetic superiority had already spread through many of the Battle-Brothers of the Iron Hands Legion even before the death of Ferrus Manus and his warning against such beliefs to the X Legion. Before the betrayal at Istvaan, Cybus had fought beside the warriors of the Emperor's Children Legion on numerous occasions. He had always respected the III legion's devotion to the attainment of perfection, finding much to admire in the Emperor's Children's martial ethos. Many years earlier, Cybus had argued long into the night with a young officer of the III Legion named Rylanor on the merits of organic strength against augmented power, mocking the Legionary’s faith in his flesh while extolling the virtue of iron. Cybus was an uncompromising man of little personal charisma, but he had a secutor's grasp of the methodology of combat.
He's spoken of in the past tense here, so its assumed he's dead, but I've found zero evidence referring to such. Anyone have any other insight into this? Apparently this information was gleamed from the novel Fulgrim and the novel Angel Exterminatus.

Wikia, not Lexicanium.

I don't trust 40k Wikia. In the past, I have found it full of fan fiction. This article has a bibliography but doesn't use citations in the (admittedly well-written) body of the article. In any case, the past tense may not indicate death -- just presumed death sometime in the 10,000 years separating that series from the setting's "present."

That's true, but I'm pretty sure specifically its referencing the correct character given the context and the events surrounding it.
I'm kinda hoping its all true and he's still alive, would make a sweet special character for my Iron Hands codex given his particularly insanity for bionics..

Well, in the absence of a definite answer, there is probably a good chance that a heavily-augmented SM could survive so many centuries. Or he might have been entombed in a dreadnought at some point over the millennia.

That was my assumption, given how rare termies are among the hands, I'm sure he'd be such a revered and important character, and if he's now a Dread even moreso.
Was considering tossing him in there with some special rules that may make Morlock squads able to take extra units or something (since they start out small due to a lack of Terminators) or something related to improving bionics for all units.

Everything you posted is basically paraphrased from Angel Exterminatus. While 40kwikia has a reputation for filling in existing gaps that post is all on the up and up.
I don't see any reason why he would be alive. The only marine left alive who fought in the HH is supposed to be Bjorn. His unit entry states point blank that he is "the oldest warrior in the imperium." When reading the HH books it's safe to assume anyone who is not a primarch or a chaos marine will have died at some point in the ensuing ten thousand years.

That pretty much answers my question, I had forgotten Bjorn stated he was basically the main survivor of the HH.

Except Bjorns entry is categorically false, we have chaos marines kicking round and a salamander that survived the 10k only to die when found, not to mention how ever many loyalist fallen there are, vermanus was inside a stasis chamber healing from his massive trauma at istavaan, he could quite easily be alive from a fluff stand point.

That's true, it also makes him more akin to Bjorn in "legendary HH hero" status as well, especially among the Iron Hands where the Dropsite Massacre is considered their biggest failure.
The only question I'd have is, if he is alive, would he be a Dreadnought or a Terminator still? He was heavily HEAVILY bionically inclined before (from what I understand probably the most-so of the Iron Hands).

The device attached to him would lead me to believe that being in a dreadnought wouldn't be viable, as after a certain amount of time it would just heal him. Unless of course it gets removed... Which I believe it was, and put on guiliman.. After all he may be healing stasis too

It could be true in context -- i.e., others who survived the 10,000 years between "then" and "now" often did so outside of time, in the Warp. Bjorn would therefore technically be "older" than them.

Him still being a terminator would have some poetic justice to it, considering Rylanor was entombed in a dreadnought.

That is true lol
Also he might as well be a Dreadnought considering he's the most bionically implemented soldier in the Iron Hands.. so he's more like a mini-Dread.
