Hey,

Did some changes, removed the OSL, threw some basic ballast on the base in the meanwhile until my resin comes. I think this turned out ok. Messed up a few spots, rushed others but overall I think we have table quality.

It was brought up before ; the lack of edge highlighting. I think edge highlighting is a good effect, but when you're blending up 3-4 colors, edge highlight in my opinion wont look effective. I am going for a realistic look, and I don't think the edge will help my cause.

I hope you enjoy.

I went with a darker focus to show the effect a little better.

C&C - always looking to improve.

I love it! You are amazing! Defiantly TTQ!
Just think you might have been a little heavy on the wash on the quality seal on the left shoulder. apart from that, AMAZING!

"Archon Yulliptidon sat apon a throne made of polished glass, which gleamed with magnificence in the rays of the dying suns, beautifully suspended above the the many razor sharp peaks that where Commorragh. The archon held within his hands a a delicate pyramid of sculpted crystal, from which emitted a faint glow, an echo of the soundless screams of pain belonging to countless tortured souls forever trapped within. The room in which the archon sat in was something like a throne room, but displayed apon the walls where helm of every color, but all the same in size and shape. Some bore eagles on their foreheads, and others still contained the decapitated heads of their previous owners. Two huge, beautifully carved iron double doors, engraved with intricate runes of pain and suffering, opened at the far end of the room, to reveal a tall, elegant dark eldar warrior, clad in armor made from bone and flesh. "lord Yulliptidon, you asked for my presence?" Said the arrival, " to what do I owe the pleasure?". The archon raised his elongated head, skin as pale as a full moon, eyes as vivid as a horrible nightmare. " I did not ask for you, Thrayon, I ordered your presence. Do not think to much for your self, for truly, you are not much past a feral that one would find on the streets. As for why I have ordered you to my palace, it is because their is a task that I wish you to preform. I wish you and you kabal to cleanse the imperial out fort of Sargosain Gastienagan." Thrayon was both aghast and interested at what the archon had just said. "Such a task would stretch my kabal to its limits, only a great reward would be enough to do a deed like this." Yulliptidon was outraged by the the proposal of a "great reward" by Thrayon, but did not let his anger show, hiding it with a cold smile that hid his evil intentions surprisingly well. The archon was was famous for never telling a lie in his life, but was very fond of veiled double speak, and this was no exception. "Do not worry, Thrayon, you shall receive what you deserve." Thrayon, happy with this outcome, left to carry out Yulliptidons task. Little did he know what was coming. Thrayon had done a thousand evil deeds, and what he deserved was a horrible death equal to to all those he had caused. Yulliptidons smiled. He was going to have fun."

Looks great, just off the showroom floor (it looks really clean, like he's not seen too much battle!) that sword is wicked, but almost so much that it draws attention away from the main model. Nice stuff, I like that purple.

Grey Knights take care of their gear once my restock of Mig pigments arrive I am going to weather up those mechanical parts. Maybe dirty up his new base and feet.

I wanted to go with a sword that looks powerful, almost as the focal point. This is the realism I was going for. Weapons such as these would most definitely draw your attention in reality and evoke intimidation.

That was going to be my suggestion as well. A little weathering and you a golden. Excellent use of purple imo.

On further looking, that base doesn't really do your paintjob justice either. It actually takes a bit from the work you've done I feel. Perhaps a bit of elevation or more components to the rubble.

Thanks got 12 days off looking to finish my army.

The armor pieces were not that difficult to paint, but you can't assemble the model until everything is painted so that's the most time consuming part. I also got my pigments and resin bases in, so ill be working on that and weathering this model up. Mainly on the mechanical parts and feet.

Stay tuned, next update will be big.

The sword is awesome and the blend on the armour is nice.

My favourite part by far though is the gold wrist guards - mind sharing how you achieved those?

Cheers

Simple really. Vallejo Liquid Gold - Old Gold. These metallic paints by vallejo are absolutely insane. They flow, cover, and paint themselves onto your model. I strongly suggest getting them.

Beware you need to dilute them with isopropyl alcohol, they claim if you use water the paint will rust!

Hope this helps
